The people are very helpful and friendly, the location is very convenient to the things I wanted to do, and the room was clean. There are places to eat nearby and the tram is a short walk. I never felt afraid or uncomfortable traveling solo.

Great location, close to all attractions, city centre and transport .Lovely old building, good breakfast and fantastic staff. They could not be more helpful.Thoroughly recommended for a business or tourist stay .Rooms and bathrooms could be slightly larger but what do you expect in an old building .Does not spoil the enjoyment .Excellent.

The reception staff were excellent! The cleaner who cleaned our room was very efficient, quick and friendly. The room was quite small and dated but with everything you need. The bed was extremely comfortable and when we asked for extra pillows we had them immediately, the room was nice and warm. Location is quite good with the canal hop on... More

The Nicolas Witsen is conveniently located to a number of tram lines and the Heineken Experience. The breakfast served there is very good. Apart from those two plusses, there is little reason to stay here. The rooms are small. I wouldn't usually make this an issue, since this is typically European, but I was told we were upgraded to a... More

We liked this hotel; the room was small but satisfactory, clean and comfortable. The location was great for museums and canal sightseeing. Breakfast was good and better for being included in the rate. It was within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants. The bar was not inviting. Hotel reception were excellent. When we visit Amsterdam again we would choose... More

It's a reasonable hotel, located in a nice neighborhood. The rooms are smaller than they seem in the pictures. The breakfast is reasonable. Not everything is served on the open buffet. The staff may try to be nicer and helpful.

My wife and I, with our 14 year old son stayed here recently. We had a family room with three single beds and our own bathroom. The room was a good size for Europe and very clean. Housekeeping was excellent. We paid 846 Euros for four nights and that included breakfast. Continental style with meats and cheese and heated hard... More

This hotel is pleasantly situated on a side street in a nice part of Amsterdam. The number 4 tram from Centraal Station stops around the corner, which is very useful when going to and from the centre. On arrival we were warmly greeted and found our room to be a little on the small side but comfortable and extremely clean.... More

Did a lot of research trying to find a hotel suitable for a group of 26. The hotel was perfect - good clean rooms, great location and good breakfast included in price. The bar within the hotel does not have much selection but is great for al meeting up and then moving onto to more lively places
