Where do I even begin! If you want to stay in a smelly, clammy, dirty, thieving and grotty hole well this is the hotel for you! My first thought of this place was good as it was in the city center and then I entered the front door! I got to the room and thought straight away oh God, how... More

I stayed here along with my partner from the 26th-29th of September as we were in Amsterdam for a short, romantic break. The hostel was super easy to find from Centraal station, only a 10 minute walk. Of course we were greeted with VERY steep stairs as common with all Dam buildings but wasn't too hard getting the case up them.... More

Cheap and reasonable stay in Amsterdam. Old, smelly but right in the centre of the city. Breakfast very simple, very steep stairs and uncomfortable bed. Simple shower room inside the room but toilets are shared outside. And there was a mousse in our room so we slept with light on. No recommend for very light sleepers as can be very... More

Great location, 10 minute walk from central station & reasonably close to city centre. Very steep stairs up to reception & rooms. Wouldn't let us check in till 2pm even though our paperwork stated otherwise so had to wander the street like zombies for several hours. Our room was beyond awful. Dirty bed sheets & worlds worst mattress. Stains everywhere... More

We stayed for two nights in this hostel booked the night before (last minute) as we were backpacking. It was very close to the Amsterdam Central Station which was why we booked it. That was the only good thing about it. We were on the very top floor which had a tiny toilet and a shower next to it which... More

Location - on a nice outgoing street with the better coffeeshops Breakfast was included BUT was just 3 slices of bread, 1 hard boiled egg and 2 slices of cheese, and also tea/coffee They printed my boarding card for... I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this little hotel, considering we paid next to nothing for 2 nights b & b it was perfectly adequate. We asked for a double room, we ended up with a double ensuite which was lovely, rooms and bathrooms were all clean and well kept. We didn't have breakfast as we already have... More

We'd booked a weekend in Amsterdam, and stumbled upon this place on a Hostel Website. The place itself is very cheap considering it's central location (about a 5 minute walk from Central Station), with 3 nights in a double room setting us back around €200. I was a little apprehensive of the place after reading reviews below, but still we... More

My friend and I stayed here for three night. and if I'm perfectly honest I wish we chose somewhere else.. The location was good however as there was no double glazing or any sound proofing it meant you barely slept as the people in the streets were shouting and screaming around 4am, which was rather annoying. The room was really cramped,... Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
