I confess that when got out of the tram and walked to the hotel, I started to get worried. There are repairs on the street all over the quarter and it was difficult to move with the luggage. We finally arrived to the hotel and the entrance was not that imposing. But all this first impression was wrong. The hotel...

We stayed 1 night in this hotel. Our room was comfortable, and we had no issues until we went to check out the next morning. We had a mini bar in our room, and the hotel information sheet that was on the desk in our room said "please help yourself to the complementary mini bar". So we had a couple...

We stayed couple nights in the hotel in august and I wouldn't range it for 4*. We were not welcomed by staff on the front desk: no smile, no welcoming words, no info on hotel on general. We were charged for the whole period of stay upon arrival. Only in the room we've found that wi-fi needs a password, which...

We got a double room on the ground floor.. Spacious room, well sized bathroom with all basic amenities, a mini fridge and TV. There is a tram station right outside the hotel and has frequent access to the dam and central station. Take Tram 12 and then change to tram 5 from museumplien to reach the dam square and ahead...

The Savoy Hotel was the first stop on our interrailing adventure, and probably the pick of the hotels on the trip. A quieter location close to the museum district meant easy access for us to explore both the characterful back streets of Amsterdam as well as the more lively area around the red light district which was entertaining in itself....

Just got back and had a great time. Great location if you're attending a conference at the Rai (as we were) and hop on the number 12 tram (right outside the door), then number 5 and you're in the center within 10-15 minutes too. Hotel was clean, really helpful staff, not all that fancy but decent sized rooms and in...

On arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely modern rooms.air-conditioned, electric beds, bath and shower and flat screen tv, safe in the room. Couldn't ask for more.I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews on here. The tram to Amsterdam centre is two streets away now so a bit of a trek if you don't like...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
