Hotel was easy enough to find, we got the 197 bus from the airport, 5 euros each & a roughly 30 minute ride to the Rijksmuseum, followed by a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Check in was swift, we were put on the second floor towards the back of the hotel so was pretty quiet. The hotel was suitable...

-Good location within 2 mins of the van gough and other museums. I'd go there again for this reason. -Rooms are like small bedrooms, it's more like a b&b/ converted house but a lot of hotels seem the same. -we paid €140 per night in April. It's very expensive for what it is, you pay for the location in Amsterdam...

Honestly, the rooms are tiny and showers terribly designed (with water over-spilling thanks to the half glass doors. But if you plan to be out and sightseeing, the location is fantastic with easy access from the airport (direct bus 197 at €5 one-way!) Use the hotel as your base, come back to a clean bed in a secure, safe neighborhood....

I'll be honest.Hotel Vossius Vondelpark was not my first choice. Our original option in this excellent and quiet location was another hotel in the same street.... which turned out to be full. With just three weeks to go before a hastily arranged trip, I got a bit of a fright at the price points of some hotels, chiefly chain outfits...

Booked on-line and hoped for the best. Incredibly easy to find from airport, get bus 197 to Rijksmuseum. Five minute walk to hotel. Set in side street, it is a great location and, while we were there, quiet. Staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. They booked on-line tickets and recommended an excellent breakfast location for us. Room was ground-floor...

Stayed just for one night in March 2016. The hotel was perfect for my needs - a great location, perfectly adequate room (with an awesome shower) and I was welcomed by a very friendly young man at reception. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

Before booking this hotel, I read the reviews inside out. The hotel is positioned as simple, clean and value for money. I wasn't expecting big things from this accommodation but I was expecting it to be clean. It simply wasn't. I can tolerate most silly things about a hotel. I've traveled a lot and vary between hostels and hotels. The...

Stayed for 3 nights. For £50 a night between two people it's a good price. Rooms cleaned every day. Fresh towels provided. Rooms are small but not a big issue for us personally. Comfy bed. Small pillows. Toiletries and hairdryer in room. Location right beside the bus stop from airport & central to all of the town centre. Bus number...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
