Great hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is convenient to most tourist spots that you would be trying to get to. The room is reasonably large and quite quirky. Accessible by walking (about 12 minutes) from the main...More
I reserved last minute for a business trip, didn't have too many expectations. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel's rooms are very stylish and totally clean, but the best part is that the hotel got all the details right. From the choice in...More
We moved to the Hotel V Nesplein after an uncomfortable night at the NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky a few hundred feet away. After finding the hotel highly reviewed and closeby, we walked down to inquire about availability. When we asked about the quality of...More
Centrally located -15 minutes walk from Centraal station and in the centre of the action . Set on quiet side street so road noise not an issue. The bed was extremely comfortable though two minor niggles -the lighting -designer though maybe was slightly inadequate. Also...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.

Schiphol airport is about 30 km. The airport has its own train station, easily reachable from inside the arrival hall and with train connections every 5 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal Station. From there you can either take the tram number 16 (platform A3 outside the station, on the left corner of the same) and get off the tram at the stop "Dam", than it's less than 5 minutes walking, just ask direction for "Nes". Otherwise you can walk from the station but it's closer to 30 minutes (with luggage and stuff). A Taxi will cost you maximum 50 euros (that's an honest taxi fare, of course), a Uber something less.
