We stayed 3 nights in room 401. As others have said, the location is brilliant since it's just 5 minutes' walk from the Central Station over the canal to the hotel. We had a warm welcome and didn't have to wait long for the lift. First impressions were how good the air conditioning was, since the room was chilly compared with the temperature outside but that was easily amended. The room was very small and the window looked into a square 'tube' with a blank interior walls and another room to the right but it was nice and quiet despite all the noise outside. The shower was superb, with instant hot water, the easiest controls ever and fixed rainwater plus adjustable shower heads along with a wide shelf on which to put your gel and shampoo, although these were supplied in wall dispensers. It was slightly unusual that the shower room floor was all one level so if you wanted to use the toilet shortly after using the shower you would get wet feet! 2 hand towels and 2 small bath towels plus the floor mat were replaced daily, the hand basin was modern and liquid soap pleasant. The bed squeaked when I sat on my side but mercifully didn't squeak when I lay in it and turned over. There was a safe under the small wardrobe which had removable wooden hangers (as opposed to the very irritating fixed ones), 2 bedside tables, a comfy chair and a stool. We could only get Channel 5 in English on TV. The help yourself buffet breakfast was very good for the price, compared to outside cafes, with juices, a machine serving various types of coffee, hot chocolate and hot water for tea (several types). There was a big bowl of fresh fruit salad, 2 types of yoghurt, 2 cereals, many jars with pulses and dried fruit, scrambled egg, mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans, chicken sausages, & Dutch bacon (speck) and toast on request. The usual cheese and ham was available along with 4 types of bread roll, croissants, pain au chocolat and small Danish pastries, 2 jams, peanut butter, hazlenut spread - plenty of choice! The gentleman who oversaw breakast was very friendly, polite and helpful and kept the cafe area very clean. In the reception area there was free water and coffee but we had a small kettle in our room with 2 coffee sachets, a camomile tea sachet, green tea sachet, 2 powdered milk sachets & 2 wooden stirrers replaced daily if used. On arrival there was 2 bottles of still water which weren't replaced but could be refilled in reception. A bowl of fresh fruit appeared after breakfast each day so guests could 'get their vitamins!' There was a small, clean play area for children and we were welcome to store our luggage after the 12 noon check out time - so useful this near to the railway station. We enjoyed our stay!

We really liked the hotel - nice, clean and great service! The room and bathroom is small, but practical. Except nowhere to put the suitcases away from the floor… There could easily have been 2 folding suitcase stands for optional use in the double/twin rooms! Two big, fluffy pillows in each bed. Ideally one of them could have been smaller to give the guests the choice of «high» or «low» pillow… Stayed there for 3 nights and tried the breakfast-buffet the second day (Sunday) Quite small, but had a good variety (incl. warm food) and we enjoyed it. The hotel has a very central location close to shops, cafes/restaurants/pubs and public transportation (5 min. walk from the Central Station where the trams are departing from as well) The Lovers canal cruises sightseeing boats are just across the street from the hotel! We will for sure stay at this hotel the next time we visit Amsterdam!

This hotel is very close to the central station. It is a hotel suitable for those who want to spend a few nights, preferably those who will take the train the next day to another location in Europe. Hotel is 1 block from the train station.

Very simple hotel! Small room and small bathroom, but in good condition. The apt is new and renovated.

If you want to stay in Amsterdam with more “glamor” and pay a little more, there are other options in more upscale areas.
Try the wonderful Ambassade hotel!!! I was there before staying here. Exclusive service, breakfast from the gods and you only pay around 80 euros more per night.

Íbis is a practical hotel, but not worth the value for money.

I stayed here for 3 nights in early June and had such a great experience.

The first thing to mention are the staff who work here. Not only were they so friendly and helpful but they went out of their way to help me with little things here and there and it was always greatly appreciated.

I was initially given a top floor double room but it had such a small window and was quite dark and small that I asked if there was anything else available. The wonderful Nezi went above and beyond and in fact gave me a few room choices to view and I settled on a fantastic room on the 3rd floor.

The room was modern, bright, airy and clean and had the usual amenities including a safe, tea/coffee and complimentary sweets too.

I found the bed extremely comfortable and the pillows were divine, as they had soft and firm ones available to choose from. I usually struggle to find soft pillows in hotels and so was really impressed with the options. The bedding was lovely too.

I had a view overlooking Centraal Station and I loved it - especially as the sun went down. The only downside to this were the trams that ran in front of the hotel from roughly 7am to midnight constantly ringing their bells and rumbling as they went past. The closed windows didn’t filter the noise out unfortunately but as I always travel with earplugs, it didn’t stop me from sleeping and I already knew of what to expect when I chose this location.

The shower was the only huge downside. It was a great shower, with different pressures and options but whoever designed the bathroom put it the most ridiculous shower door with huge gaps all around. This meant that every morning the floor was drenched and I would use towels to soak up all the water. It didn’t really bother me, however I didn’t think it was fair on the cleaners who had to constantly deal with it - probably in every room too.

The cleaning in fact was something else that I noticed, as it was exceptional. On returning back to my room, everything looked brand new - and I don’t even make a mess. I was very impressed with them.

On my final morning, I decided to take breakfast which included the usual pastries, breads, jams and select hot foods plus hot drinks. It was fine for what it was and is always a good option to have in a hotel.

On checking out I was mistakingly not charged for breakfast and I explained that I had eaten it that morning but as a goodwill gesture, I was told it was complimentary. It was so unexpected and kind.

I would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent location. A short walk from the Central Station and close to Jordaan, the Red Light District, van Gogh Museum, canal tours, etc. The room was small but adequate and clean. I also appreciated the fact that it had a safe (for cash, documents, and other valuables like tablets/laptops) which had simple instructions and worked perfectly. The room was cleaned and had fresh towels and bath mat provided every day. Shower cubicle might be a tight fit, if you're on the portly side (like me :)) One suggestion is that they place a small bottle of water in the room every day (there were two on Day 1, but that was it :)). Staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was pretty decent and filling, with options for vegetarians and vegans as well. Breakfast staff awesome and welcoming. While having breakfast, I overheard another guest saying his room was noisy, because he overlooked the street. I wish we could've switched rooms, because I would've loved the view (street noises don't stop me from sleeping). If you are sensitive to street noise, this might be something to take into account when booking.

This hotel is highly recommended. We have been to Amsterdam several times now and I know a lot of hotels in the city, but this hotel is absolutely top in every respect. Great service (very friendly and absolutely customer-oriented. We will go back to this hotel whenever we can. Absolutely clean room. Perfect location and value for money too.

We arrived and asked if they had any rooms available (very spontaneously) and we got a room at a very good price and not just any room, but simply the best room they have! ROOM 101 🤩 We love you and will definitely come back 👍

I booked this hotel as a base for a two night business trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is perfectly located within a five minutes walk from Centraal Station and a mere ten minute walk into most tourist hotspots.
The welcome on check in was warm and friendly and I was allocated a double room on the second floor overlooking the main road.
The room was one of the larger doubles and was adequately appointed with two sockets and two cabinets a large TV a with some UK channels and a large shower.
The room was clean and well heated.
Breakfast was a calm affair which makes a pleasant change from larger hotels, again the staff were warm and welcoming.
Checkout was efficiently executed and all in all I would not hesitate to book to stay here again on my next trip

Very good room, new and clean. The only thing missing is a shower door, so the entire bathroom doesn't get wet, and a folding support for the suitcase. The staff is very attentive. The room, despite being in a very busy area with bars below, was very quiet.

This was an unexpected trip: I was staying in Arnhem for a concert and I really wasn't enjoying my stay there so I decided to spend my last day/night in Amsterdam instead. I'm so happy I picked this hotel! This is so much better than your average Ibis. The room was perfect and a lot roomier than I expected, considering the reviews. The window could open, which was great, and it was also very quiet. The Wi-Fi was SUPERB and I had all the facilities I needed. The bed was comfy. I could have done with an extra plug but it was a very minor thing. Breakfast was expensive but that's normal at Ibis hotels, and there was one staff member in particular who was fantastic (he's in charge of breakfast I think?) and who still made it worth it :-) EVERYONE was lovely, and the location is perfect. I will definitely stay again in the future! Highly recommended.

The location just across the street from Amsterdam Central Station was so very convenient to getting off a cruise and then taking a train, not to mention very close to the shopping district and Dam Square. While the room was small, the bed was nice and large and there was plenty of space to stash your stuff. The shower was also very nice with a rain shower head. Being right on the street with lots of people and trams coming and going into the night, the room was never loud, and this was much appreciated. The hotel was very accommodating, letting us store our bags for two days before we returned to Amsterdam.
