Situated amongst the museums and close to a nice shopping street with restaurants Amsterdam is hard to get about but from central station catch trams 2,5,16 which go to museum 1/4. Great location for exploring the city, right near the Heineken Experience. A few moments away from a tram stop that is then a 10 minute tram ride to the Central Train Station and some of the nightlife. Check in was quick and staff were helpful. Rooms were dated & a bit scruffy but had all good amenities, mini bar, iron...

I stayed at this hotel in February of last year with my partner (yes, it took me a year to get round to writing a review!) The location of this hotel is excellent, although it's not in the VERY centre of Amsterdam, it is literally a minutes walk away from the city's museums! Our apartment was clean and well equipped...

We just spent 3 comfortable nights at the hotel, the room was simple but very clean and quiet, with everything you could need for a short stay. On our arrival, although we arrived early, we were able to get to our room immediately. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, we have even received...

This hotel is slightly out of the centre of Amsterdam but still only a 20 walk away. All the staff throughout our stay were genuinely friendly and helpfull. Our room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels left. The WiFi in the rooms is strong and we were able to stream Netflix without buffering. The beakfast had a good selection and...

We arrived on a Friday, an hour earlier than the check in time, luckily we were able to check in early. When we got to our room on the top floor, we found we'd been given a corner room with a view! The room was spacious, clean, we had everything we needed and more! The staff we came across during...

Sometimes you even have the possibility to stay in a hotel in your hometown, now it was the Museumquarter which hosted me. This hotel is really very convenient when it comes to location. The important Musea are "around the corner" and all less than 1000 meters from the front door. The US Embassy is around the corner, so there is...

As always, a trip away comes with some great memories, which are joined by some negatives. My experience at NH Amsterdam museum quarter did not provide much of the latter. Firstly, I booked incorrectly. I booked for just my wife, forgetting myself (weird, I know). Most hotels in England would say only one person can stay, but the staff at...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
