The location of the hotel is great if you are looking for quiet and are a museum buff. A quick tram ride to city center as well as bus ride from airport. I was traveling solo and felt comfortable at the hotel as well as throughout the city. The staff was very accommodating. My only complaint is that I received...

Dear TravelBunny, Thank you for your overall good rating on your stay at NH Museum Quarter. I am sorry you feel the room was not according to room rate. We are working hard to update the product and already have new beds and new TV's. We hope we do see you back in the future, if not at Museum Quarter...

I booked a trip to Amsterdam for my boyfriend's birthday and this was perfect. The hotel is located minutes away from the museums and a lovely park to sit in the sunshine. The staff were really helpful and gave us information about loads of areas and attractions to visit. There is a lively square with bars and restaurants about a...

I recently stayed at the NH Amsterdam Museum Quarter for 4 nights. I booked this hotel based on the online reviews as well as help from my travel agent. While some of the reviews weren't stellar, I decided to book it anyway and was very glad I did. The location was fantastic, being just a few blooks away from the...

Stayed here on a Saturday night, and enjoyed the stay. Situated in the Museum Quarter means that it is quiet, and around 45 mins walk (with cases) from the station. However, there is still plenty to see and do near by. Our room was large, and overlooked the canal. Bathroom was good size, wifi was reasonable, but the aircon was...

Dear Mike, Thank you so much for your kind words on your stay at NH Museum Quarter. We appreciate it very much. I am happy to say that we are replacing our air conditionings one by one. If you do not want to walk 45 minutes next time you can take the train to Amsterdam Zuid (south). We hope to...

The rooms are fresh, clean and modern. Unfortunately, we didn't include b-fast in our booking, but there are a few cafés and bakeries just around the corner. A 2 min walk to tram stations. The staff is friendly. if you are in Amsterdam for the culture and city strolling (and not for the parties and the drinking) this is a...

There is not much that stands out about this hotel and unfortunately I look for things that sand out. I was not disappointed by the stay but I was also not overwhelmed either. I would not discourage people from staying here if it is what their budget dictates however I am sure there are much better options nearby.

We chose it for the Concert Hall and for the fact that it has on-site secure garage parking by way of an elevator accessed from side street. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds expansive. views over the rooftops from the seventh floor, front of hotel. Friendly staff, free wifi.

I chose this hotel because it was near the three museums in the Museumplatz. There is much more to recommend it besides the location. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The rooms are large and the bed is comfortable with great pillows. There are some restaurants nearby and if you don't want to pay 20 euros for breakfast there...

This was a nice, comfortable hotel that wasn't very expensive. It's not fancy but clean and our room had lots of light and even a nice view of town. I think we got an upgrade from our double room. The staff was nice enough to let us check in to a room even though we arrived at 10 AM after...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
