We recently spent 5 days at this hotel. It could not have been more pleasant. The hotel is lovely and their restaurant is very good. However, what impressed us the most was the staff. They all were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. When we return to Amsterdam, we will surely stay at The College Hotel.

super hotel near museums, and tram 5 stopping right in front. we booked a weekend for Valentine weekend, to enjoy and play the tourists in Amsterdam, the personnel was really friendly, the diner menu was amazing, if you don't want to drink too much but wants to enjoy wines, try their 'bob' arrangement, we get 4 wines with less in...

Did not have any knowledge of the hotel so was quite taken by it being a conversion of an old school. The interior is decorated with dark and warm tones, accented by colourful furnishings, flowers, lit fires and huge windows. A tranquil environment. The bedroom was lovely with three enormous beautiful windows, comfortable bed and tasteful bathroom with a large...

Stayed one night on business at this gorgeous hotel. Pillows like giant marshmallows! Just so comfortable. Rooms elegant and stylish, as is the whole hotel. Location may not suit everyone, but it is perfect for our offices. The lunch I had was delicious - a ceasar salad. My only gripe, I told two different members of staff my bathroom light...

I'm not sure if I can add any more useful information to that which others have already provided in their reviews. The building is an impressive old school building very well converted into a smart hotel, located in a quiet area south of the Museumplein and within easy walking distance of the main attractions (and on the right side of...

Impressive hotel, great atmosphere. Felt like kings. The staff was really welcome and friendly. I only stayed one night, but it's perfectly suited for a longer stay. Amsterdam is a great city, and this hotel is a worthy one.

We stayed here in a superior room for three nights. The building itself and interior decor is beautiful although it could do with a little touch-up in parts where things are getting a bit worn. The room was nice, mattress, linens, fittings and fixtures - all pleasant. The one issue I had with it was the lighting. It's quite dark...

I stayed 1 night at the College Hotel and have a few important pointers. The property, mostly the exterior and public spaces, are very impressive. They obviously spent a lot of effort to create dramatic lighting which works well if you are not staying at the hotel. The rooms are very small. The hotel was fully booked and they gave...

I just got back from a trip to Amsterdam. It was a Christmas/Birthday trip for me and one of my friends. I can not begin to rave enough about this property. To start, I am a frequent traveler and have been to Europe at least 12 times. When I travel to Europe, I lower my expectations of the hotel as...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
