Great area, right by tram stop number 25, which you can get from central station. Nice park opposite hotel. Supermarket around corner, and nice cafe along the road. We were in a large group, we found the twin, tripple and quad rooms a decent size, double was small though (double had only a shower, other rooms had full size bathrooms,...

Clean and comfortable, room a little small but we were only in there to sleep and get ready so exactly what we needed. Location - we knew where it was located before we booked so expected a walk to get there and we were in the Dam for sightseeing too so were happy the mooching around. Not a far walk...

I enjoyed my stay at the Aalbourg Hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, without being imposing. The Bar had two shiny imac's with free internet, which was very handy + free wifi throughout the hotel. My room was fine, I expected a work desk for my laptop, but the only place to put it was on the small bedside...

Too small room for 4 people (there was no space for our luggage). Clean. Staff friendly and helpful. No private parking (expensive parking on the street) Good hotel for one night.

We stayed here for nearly a week and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, the door locks at night and you get buzzed in by the guy at the desk so it felt safe. It was true to the photos on they're website. It was a bit far from the center of town but close to the museum...

The location of the hotel is really great. It's facing the park and is very close to the city centre (about 5mins walk). The neighborhood is quiet and typical old Amsterdam look. The breakfast does not makes you wow!, but still with the solid quality and standard - cereals, milk, yoghurt, some variety of bread, eggs, ham, cheese, cucumber, cherry tomatoes,...

We chose the Aalborg because it was a decent price for our budget in expensive Amsterdam. It was fine for a few days, but was really quite average and I think we could have found something better for our budget if we tried. The hotel is out of the city centre, about 30mins walk. The walk wasn't so nice in...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
