Booked a triple room for a short family hotel. This is an old house converted to a hotel more than 30 years ago. So expect traditional dutch steep stairs, which are designed to boost your cycling legs. The triple rooms are reasonably large and have private shower and bathroom. Facility are basic with a fridge, a kettle and a crt...

Stayed here for 3 nights in October with a friend in a twin room and shared bathroom. The hotel is in a great location in the museum quarter with the Van Gogh Museum a 5 minute walk away. The main area of bars and restaurants is about 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is in a quiet location which is...

Had a lovely stay at hotel verdi. The staff are very welcoming and helpfull. Had a good selection to choose from at breakfast, rooms were clean and tidy and the shower is fantastic. Would have gave five stars but the hotel is quite dated. Would return.

This was a cute little hotel, but small and what you expect for the money in Amsterdam (where everything is outrageously expensive!!!). The hotel was clean and basic and exactly what you need to explore the city. There is a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff however made this hotel; they were absolutely brilliant, friendly, helpful and so very...

Me and a few friends had a lovely experience staying in this charming hotel near the Van Gogh museum at Museumplein. Warm, cozy with an arty vibe, this place is for you if you would like to relax and party at the same time. The Hotel is 3mins walking distance from the tram stop and bus stops. Staying in this...

The owners are lovely, the hotel well located and advice on where to eat was excellent. We were in the three bed room at the top - number 15. It was good exercise climbing up and down the stairs. We didn't spend long in the hotel itself - a nourishing breakfast (eggs, meats, fruit bread, waffles, salad and fruit) at...

You get what you see, if you are looking for something low budget yet with more privacy than a hostel room then I recommend this hotel! I loved the friendly staff and the homey feeling of this place, it didn't feel like a cold hotel where no one cares about you. 1st night they let me stay in a bigger...

First time visiting Amsterdam and had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Verdi. I had a single room with ensuite shower room - the room was clean with a very comfy bed and a nice size. The only problem I had was with a broken button on the tv, but after letting them know that morning I was sorted with...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
