Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Thorbeke hotel. Worst hotel we have ever had the displeasure of staying at Upon entry walking up what felt like Mount everest on an extremely dirty carpet gave us a glipse of things to come. Staying in an allegedly non-smoking room we were greeted with the stench of stale smoke and...

We arrived in Amsterdam and went to Booking.com at Schiphol airport to find a hotel. We were told that all hotels were booked up due to a "large gathering" of some kind and there was only one room left in all of Amsterdam - Hotel Thorbecke. The hour was late so we booked the room. We felt that was a...

you do get what you pay for, particulary the brekfast, a bit of toast that you have to make yourself! a slice of cheese and a hard boiled egg. The location is good but security in the hotel is terrible. The main door to the hotel does not shut properly and on the last night my mates phone and money...

I booked an apartment via on-line with Bookings, com, roughly two months prior. As there were three of us, one couple and a single i thought the apartment would be best, we could all be together but the advertised seperate bedroom would give you privacy and as we were on a bit of a budget the kitchen would be very handy....

Due to a huge media conference in Amsterdam the Thorbecke hotel had the only available rooms. In hindsight sleeping in a canal may have been better. - The stairs to reception are suitable for only a clear headed mountain goat. - The 'room for 6' contained 2 rooms with 4 x single and one double bed with barely enough room...

This hotel was dirty, reeked of cigarettes, even though we had a non-smoking room but had great customer service. Our room had a street view right above the check in counter. At night it was EXTREMLY loud! The overall feel of the room was dirty. The hotel had a club/bar located next door. Upon check in the guy at the...

if your idea of staying in a hotel suite above a nightclub, being kept awake with drum and bass night (Saturdays) til 5am is an ideal break away - you'll love this venue! we booked a suite for 6 people - the two joined rooms were depressingly different from the reasonably looking pictures on the internet and the sign outside...

We went as a party of 10 lads in November and stayed a Friday night in this hotel. To be honest it wasn't the best place in the world but what do you expect for the money? We had 3 rooms booked: a 6 ensuite bedroom (295 Euros), a ensuite 2 bedroom (95 Euros), 2 bedroom (75 Euros) so it...
