We had no issues with the accomodation. Met at the shop and walked down the block to the place we would be staying. Owner was very helpful in explaining the map and highlighting streets and points of interest- made it so much easier for us...More
Stayed in Nov 15 with my partner (other friends booked separately and stayed in other hotels/apartments).
Arrived at the shop and were walked to the apartment by Rene (about 5min away), he gave us some tips of places to go etc on the way. The...More
Quiet part of town, nice bars and restaurants in every direction. Essential places in walking distance.
Staying at the Blauwbergwal apartment next to the canal...perfect for couples or solo travelers. 50 m to Arendsnest Prooeflokaal, local craft beer (30 on tap and at least same...More
Not what we expected. Literally a room in a house. Miserable man walked us to house from shop. Room small but adequate with small wet room. No shampoo etc nor maid service. Expensive for what it was. Location ok and easy to find.
The Truelove Guesthouse is in a very central location, close to Dam Square and Central Station. We stayed in a room facing one of the canals, it was quiet and clean. Nothing fancy but everything you really need. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed our...More
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws
include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

I emailed the guest house after booking to ask what room I was allocated, then I searched for that address on Google Maps. We went in September 2014 and we were booked in "Herengracht 57" which had a great central location, just a 2 minute walk from Dam Square. The room itself was brilliant for myself and partner (both 27), it wasn't huge but accommodated our needs perfectly (room included nice double bed, tv, fridge, small dining table/chairs, free wifi, space to keep your belongings... and also had private bathroom). We were basically staying in our own little apartment and felt like locals! There wasn't a reception desk with room service but we didn't need any of that (the guest house owners are just a phone call away but we had no need to ring them). Next time we go we'll be asking to stay in Herengracht 57 again! Enjoy your holiday :-)
