Group of five, it was very difficult to find anywhere. So it cost 300E a night for a 6 room, and it was very snug with 3 bunk beds in and one tiny en-suite. But whilst it seemed expensive, i struggled to find anything in this kind of price range and it is better than a hostel. Rooms were clean...

Very small rooms & hallways but clean. They offer great breakfast buffet. Location is very good especially if you wish to stay at the Museumplain area. A walk away from most of the museums, trams and cruise boats. Value for money is average, depending if you go for the promotion price or the regular price.

The six bedroom mixes dorm I was in was quite small with no window/natural light with only two power outlets.  Good linen. Friendly day staff, grumpy night staff. The location was mediocre and it was not so easy to find with the directions provided by the hostel. The wifi didn't work for more than half of my stay. This hostel...

Staff were excellent. Customer service was superb and helped at any time. Peter was especially helpful and went out of his way to find a missing wallet. Location was central. Overall excellent hotel/hostel

OK experience. It's a hostel so not expecting anything outstanding - we had a private room and it was quiet which was a huge change from St Christopher's near the Red Light District. Breakfast was usual fare of cheap cornflakes, eggs, meat, cheese, coffee, juice. Fine for the price. No smoking in the facility which was good as Amsterdam is...

We stayed at alot of hostels on our trip but the only good part about this one was the breakfast. The room had no windows. It was dark and dingy. The basin clogged once, which they did try to repair. The location was good though. Tip : check the room before you checkin. If the room is good, its not a...

I got the joy of staying in this hostel for 3 nights, my room was dirty, there was no air conditioning as it had stated, no towels and the breakfast... well lets just say stale bread and jam is not what I consider breakfast, seriously bad even by hostel standards. I wouldn't go back even if you paid me!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
