Overall, if I could give this place a 0 I would. We booked this hostel without reading the reviews and I wish I read them first because all of the bad reviews are right! The hostel itself is dirty and you feel like it hasn't been cleaned. The rooms are very small and have the bare minimum, including one outlet...

If all you need is a bed, this place is for you (although you get an unwanted extra - bed bugs, specifically room #3). Did not expect much in the first place, however very displeased. Entire staff was very unfriendly and barely approachable. Male staff called me out for looking uneasy about staying at the hostel... Which I wasnt but...

The reviews I had read hadnt given much hope, however we were pleasently surprised at the cleanliness of the room. The hostel is in a great location to see all the sights of Amsterdam. As a place to base ourselves it was more than sufficient. The hostel also offered additional activities including abseiling and rock climbing in the navigating of...

The hostel is really basic, I was in a double bedroom with a friend, and it's small, with a sink, a TV and a small window. The toilette is shared, with showers in the lower floor. Since we only went there to sleep, it was ok, we didn't need more than that, and the guys at the reception were really...

My boyfriend and I paid £44 to stay in a (poorly) converted bathroom - ie. a bath had been ripped out and a bed is now in its place. Tiles and sink still included. The walls are so incredibly thin I got woken up in the middle of the night by next door flicking their light switch on and off....

Guy who checked us in was very rude and stoned, stairs to room were vertical and tiny, rooms are tiny and beds are tiny. Bunk beds with no ladders or safety bars to prevent you falling. Showers were filthy with one shower, toilet and sink between 8!! Got bites from insects whilst sleeping here. Wifi doesn't work upstairs and the...

We booked the Hostel for one night after the King's day holiday. It was very cheap and close to the central station in a good neighborhood. However, the day after I noticed plenty bedbug bites all over my body. Still afraid I brough some bedbugs with me back to Germany - nightmare!! Do not stay there.

I cant offer any opinion on the hotel but Utopia's coffeeshop is a nice place to spend some time. The location couldn't be any better. Theres a couple of tables outside, perfect for when the suns out. Utopia always has excellent products in stock and I have always received good service from the staff. Ingi in particular is very welcoming...

The location is good. But the service is awful and confusing. They arranged tree people for the same bed. We paid for a 6 people's room, but instead we've got a eight people room, with no cleaned sheets. Misteriously some things were missing after the daily cleaning of the room You should spend more money and stay in a better...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
