I have stayed in Haarlem on numerous occasions - but this was the first time in this hotel. It wasn't the cheapest at c.€130 per night but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The decor was exquisite, in a nice "house". The patio area was very pleasant for a drink in the sunshine in the shadow of the beautiful church (and...

One of the best and most enjoyable hotel stays I have ever had. The lady on the desk was so so helpful and kind and the staff are super. The room overlooked the square (so obviously earplugs are needed - but, derrr, no brainer if you are going to a hotel right!). The view was great and the location was...

I decided to stay in Haarlem because rooms were less expensive than Amstwrdam and Amsterdam is just a 15 train ride away. So glad I picked Stempels. Room 30 was great! Cute, comfortable, huge! Excellent bathroom. Totally clean. Friendly and helpful staff. A great home base for 6 day trip to this area.

I have stayed here on several trips but this is the first time I landed the deluxe room at the corner of the building. What a treat! (Double Windows cancel street noise in this pedestrian only area.) Double height room with elaborate chandelier, stylish sofa and three huge Windows. Soft gray walls and white moldings pair nicely with natural wood...

Stayed here for a business event - several of our meetings were also hosted in the hotel. Decor was very nice with large mirrors, chandeliers etc. Bed was comfy as was the room and ensuite. Very clean and excellent location right in the centre, which was easy to get to. Breakfast was excellent with a nice continental selection plus good...

Came back after nearly four years. Still my favourite hotel. The staff are so friendly, so enthusiastic and hospitable. A lot of the crew are still there after four years - says something about the quality of the place. Great rooms, even better beds. Attention to detail. Good food.

If you would quality and character this is the place to stay when visiting Haarlem. You can walk it from the station and the hotel is very central for the sights and shopping. The rooms are individual and full of Dutch charm., reflecting its history as a press of Dutch bank notes: hence the name. The restaurant is also very...

Beautifully renovated to modern style with lots of historic details still showing. Beds and linen first class. Rooms are clean and fresh, breakfast is good, hospitable staff in front desk, for meeting facilities and dining. Best location in town!

Comfortable, spacious rooms within a heritage building combine to make this hotel an excellent option. Right in the middle of the town, everything is at your doorstep. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant superb. Difficult to fault this accommodation.

I had a great stay at Stempels hotel in Haarlem. It's right in the center of town, across from the Oude market and the church. I was able to book a night here on short notice simply by calling the number listed. The staff are very courteous and speak clear English. Perfect for a romantic trip or anyone looking to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Here at Stempels you are welcome to eat, drink, having a party, to enjoy performances, to organize meetings and stay overnight. This all happens on the premises of the former Joh. Enschede complex, where for many years the Dutch banknotes has been pressed as well as post stamps for a lot of different countries. In other words, a place with a rich history, renovated into a modern hotel-restaurant, full of cosy atmosphere, right in the centre of the monumental heart of Haarlem. The well known Haarlem restaurant owner, Frans van Cappelle, wish to extend a warm welcome to you. On the first, second and third floor of the building are seventeen hotel rooms. The first and second floor are attainable by lift, but if you are in good condition, we recommend the old monumental staircase. There are four comfort rooms, six superior rooms, five luxury rooms, one junior suite and one suite. All rooms are provided with Hästens beds, airconditioning, a flat screen television set, a computer, free (wireless-) internet facilities, toilet and a shower. The luxury rooms and suites also have a bath. Like everywhere in the building one can find original decorations and ornaments in the hotel rooms.Staying at the front of the building one has a magnificent view of the Klokhuisplein and the St.Bavo church. ... more   less
