I stayed in a single room and found that I had more than enough space, considering the size of the room I had in Amsterdam. It cost 65 euro for the night which was fine as breakfast was included in that. Buffet breakfast, private shower facilities, approximately 5-10 minute walk from the station, and right in the centre of town....

I miss a rating option 'good' between 'average' and 'very good', for me hotel Royal rates as good. As written by others: fantastic location, 5 minute walk from train station. All works, all is clean, friendly staff : all OK for a mid-range hotel, all you need for a 1 night stay on a business trip. If they would be...

The hotel room we had would probably be best described as "shabby". It lacked a hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities and is in need of a refurb. A bit dated but in the best spot in town, right on the town square. The lift worked fine and the staff are great, handy for translation or advice on places to go. The...

Centrally located in the town square. Reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff. Good but basic breakfast included. Could probably do with a sprucing up and there are few amenities but the rooms are functional and clean. Beds are comfortable and the town market is right outside. I have stayed here a number of times and have no reason to look...

Really impressed with this town. Will def be staying here again if I get the chance. The hotel is described as "no frills ", so often that means "no good". But not here. Nice room. Warm . Comfortable bed. I didn't try the restaurant but plenty of other people were (a good sign) as I'd set my heart on spaghetti...

Stayed there several times during business travelling to Deventer. The hotel is simple, and has probably not been renovated for several years. Very simple yet unexpensive room. The double bed consisted of two beds put together, which was not a problem for me but I would understand could be for someone else. It has a restaurant on the ground floor...

Stayed here for three nights in May and was pleasantly surprised, considering the price. The location was great, and we weren't bothered by any noise from the downstairs bars or restaurants (we were on the top floor though). Walls were thin, and if we had noisy neighbours this could have been a problem, but luckily for us they were all...

Reputedly one of Deventer' s oldest hotels,Royal is stiil going strong in the middle class segment: clean rooms, elevator, good breakfast and nice staff. On the Brink, the traditional market square, Royal is in the midst of whatever happenes in the Hanseatic town, one of the Netherlands best-kept secrets.

Great location, smack in the middle of the old city centre! Breakfast basic, nothing fancy. Downside Wifi not reliable in rooms, some noise at nights in the weekend, but okay with windows closed (no airco)
