Staff were super friendly, location and setting is fantastic, food and wellness facility were on point, the room was disappointing. Rooms were outdated and two single mattresses shoved together, which is simply not good enough. Slightly dirty in the toilet and the shower was not what you should expect, was let down by the room majorly. Compared to other 5... More

Stayed in the Roman wing and the room indeed resembles Roman times but not because its representing class and luxury but because it's ancient! Toilet paper holder in the toilet was the same as in public places, mold in the sink, damaged furniture and worst of all old furniture! Moreover, instead of having a double mattress we had two mattresses... More

Had a 3 course business dinner with my colleagues. We were pleasantly surprised by the unique location in an old monastery. Very relaxed atmosphere and good for private businesses conversations. The food was excellent and between courses we had nice surprises and demonstrations of creative cooking. Also for vegetarians enough possibilities for an excellent dinner. Very good wine chart and... We've stayed here too many times to count and have always ended up having an excellent experience. This time we were in the main building and had a lovely suite which was tastefully decorated, the bed was comfortable and the staff were always willing to help. The breakfast is always a highlight as well!

I am a frequent traveler, loving the luxury of a hotel and its restaurant. Sometimes it is difficult to find the combination of both. In Grand Hotel Karel V you’ll find it. The hotel is situated in the center of Utrecht, near the railway station/commercial area. When entering the premises by foot or by car, it seems a bit narrow,... More

Checked into hotel for one night on business. Reception very welcoming, and went through all the details of the stay. The room was wonderful, large comfy bed, work area with desk and nice bathroom. The only thing i did not like was as the hotel is close to the Dom cathedral, during the night the bells woke me up many... More

I had a good stay here but the hotel could definitely use some updating. Location is right in the heart of Utrecht which was great for getting around. Staff at the hotel were quite welcoming and they spoke very good English.

Very friendly and helpful staff; nothing was too much trouble This is a hotel from the past, slightly fancy and over done for my personal tastes, somewhat in the Grand Budapest style to be honest. I had a very large room with a 4 poster bed, with six sets of double windows. It was FREEZING when I cam in, but... More
