I was booked into the hotel by our office for an overnight stay while visiting a local manufacturer. This was my first stay in the hotel, and in fact the local area.
We arrived by car and had to find a parking place near the hotel, we found some on street parking nearby, actually not a good idea as it was for residents only! We should have driven round the corner to use the public spaces - luckily we escaped a fine!
The reception area was welcoming and we were checked in efficiently. I was given room 101 on the first floor, easily accessible by lift, (see later!). The room was very clean and smelt fresh. A very nicely lit desk with plenty of room to work was a bonus as I had a lot to do!
There were several power points near but I did have to disconnect the TV for an extra socket as I carry several chargers for my things. That being said for the average person I feel there were enough sockets.
The bathroom was clean and well lit, I had one issue as the thermostat was stiff on the shower, luckily the water was just the right temperature for me so I did not have to struggle. However some people would have had problems if they wanted cooler water.
The room did have a safe, but I could not get it to work, as I was only staying one night I did not worry too much, but if I was there a few days I would have felt a little concerned.
My colleague and I visited the bar in the evening, it was somewhat chaotic and we struggled to get served. In the end we used a local restaurant for our meal and not the hotel. A pity.
We were given free WIFI with the rooms - well done - and I found it had a reasonable speed and stability.
There was a minibar with cola, water Pringles and of course Toblerone, nice for snacking!
My bed was really comfortable with nice pillows and duvet and it was really welcome!
Unfortunately, as the room was next to the lift it soon became clear that every time the lift opened the noise was going to be very intrusive. I didn't get respite until 3am so I can't say I slept well, a pity as the bed was so nice.
Breakfast was reasonable and I felt the service was OK, it was nice to relax looking at the view as my day began.
Check out was very easy and the receptionist/manageress was very friendly giving advice on the area and wishing us well.
Would I stay again? Probably, but I would ask for a quieter room!

After many hours of driving, we enjoyed the rest in the spacious and clean bedroom. The staff was very responsive and welcoming. Because of a town celebration we could not find a way to drive to the Hotel. Eventually we drove through several blocked roads, passed through the no driving signs to reach its location. An E-Mail, with some instructions on how to reach the hotel, would have been appreciated. All in all, excellent location. Fair price. Delicious food.

The Golden Tulip in Terneuzen is located just across the street from the sea wall The view over the river is great and the sea wall is a spot of constant activity and is a great place for a walk or run. I also appreciate the fact that the hotel is located next to several good restaurants and the cinema so there are always things to do there. The hotel is older but this adds to the character. It really is a nice place to stay.

an experience to forget. we booked on the advice of our friends who were their guests and had told us about an excellent cuisine with two top chefs, one of which is Italian, whom they say is very nice, but instead we discovered that we had been sent away, we ate insufficient meals in an indecorous way, definitely pre-cooked or canned. fast food canteen-type lunch, scanty and inedible dinner, breakfast for those on a diet. the hotel staff too young and inexperienced and inadequate to manage a hotel, so many false smiles and grumpy ways of dealing, the young manager should change his job and take better care of his clothing. we will inform the company of the group that manages Enjoyhotel about all this, it is not possible for these things to happen in their circuit. we strongly advise against staying unless things change in the future

This hotel is situated direct on the seafront. It is easy to find by car and opposite the hotel there is an open air as well an underground carpark.
Rooms : rather spacious, great views of the river Escaut and great ships passing by on less than 300m. Beds and pillows are excellent. There is good individual airco in the rooms, as well as coffee and tea facility, minibar (basic),safe, flatscreen Tv ,clothing press etc. Wifi is free and good.Furniture is somewhat dated but still Ok.Bathroom clean with bath and shower. Waterpressure in shower could be better.Room is good soundproof for exterior noise .
Breakfast is served in the restaurant with view. Rather basic choice but correct price quality.
A good quiet place to stay in Terneuzen with very friendly staff , spectacular views of containerships passing by and good price setting.

The rooms are very clean and confortable. My only complain was that they don't have an iron and board in each room. You have to ask for one to be brought up and they only have a limited number.

For me, my lasting and overwhelming impression was the honesty of the staff. I had a near disasterous incident that was saved by the thoughtful and honest desk staff. I had travelled from the US to spend a week there while working at my company's site in Terneuzen. Early on Friday morning I checked out. The night clerk (Mr Bently) was stiil on duty, nearing the end of his shift. He was very nice and we chatted briefly as I checked out. I moved my car to the front of the hotel to load by bags and then drove to work for my last day in Terneuzen. At the end of the day I was scheduled to drive to eastern Germany for meetings at another site the following Mon-Wed. After checking out from the Golden Tulip and drove to work I started preparation for the day. I was on my laptop at about 6:30 AM when I got an email from the Golden Tulip with the subject line "Your wallet was found on a street in Terneuzen". A cold chill ran up my spine as I thought of the possible consequences. All my money and credit cards were in that wallet. I would be helplessly stranded without it, unable to travel to Germany for my next meeting, and I'd have difficulty even getting bach home. My wallet was fat with lots of cash because on my last trip abroad my bank (CapitalOne) had shutdown my credit card was I tried to use them in a foreign country (in spite of me calling them before the trip to inform them of where I was going!!). My heart racing, I jumped in the car and drove straight to the hotel. Apparently I'd dropped the wallet while caring a armload of clothes to the car. The day clerk was now on duty and I told her that I was the one who had the missing wallet. She opened the safe under the counter and handed me a fat envelop containing my wallet with everything still there. She said that Mr Bently had found it in the street in front of the hotel as he was leaving work, and herecognized that it belonged to me, whom he had just checked out not long before that. He put it away for safe keeping and the day clerk sent an immediate email to try to catch me as quickly as possible, not knowing that I was still in town. The honesty and thoughtfulness of these folk was incredibly heart warming, and it save me from a large loss of money and a disasterous premature end to my trip.

I can't thank Mr Bently enough. He's a very fine man and a nice man. If you visit the Golden Tulip, he's the large man with the South African accent who works the night shift. Say hello to him and give him my best.

Very nice breakfast and nice sea-view if you book a room with sea-view. But the hotel needs some renovation. The carpet is old and dirty. Carpet is not what you want. You can hear people in the other room above you walking throug their room. The water pressure is too low in the bathroom. And the whole hotel smells for fish diners.

I've recently stayed here on a business trip. The rooms are fairly large, with a safe and mini-fridge. Bathroom is okay, even I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness. I don't believe my floors were cleaned even once the whole time I was there. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Lots of choices, wonderful breads and cold cuts, bacon and eggs, juices, muesli, etc. The restaurant also serves wonderful meals, that I can recommend.
We also used the meeting room facilities at the hotel during our stay and the staff was very professional, helpful and courteous. Wonderful meeting rooms with all the electronic necessities.

3 day break in comfortable, clean hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Huge room ( 206) with good view of shipping lanes. Very relaxing just watching these big containers going past. Very comfy bed, slept brilliantly, good strong wi-fi, air-con was wonderful, even in October, when most hotels have turned them off or onto heating only. Good for menopausal women who have to take a fan everywhere. Restaurant has very good food, but only ate there once as Terneuzen has many good restaurants within easy walking distance of hotel.
Not much to do in Terneuzen itself but as we only wanted to relax, read books and stare out the window, this hotel was perfect.

It's a smal hotel, overlooking the "Westerschelde" with all the big schips passing by to Antwerp or back to the Northsea.
The room have nice soft beds, and a smal bathroom. No problem for a overnight stay.
The outside terrace has windshields and is a nice place for viewing ships, a drink, a bite and a dinner.
The underground parking is free from 18.00 hrs until 9.00 hrs next morning.
The breakfest is good and not overdoing. Just as we like it.
