A great little motel in the center of Salmo. Under new ownership as of June 2021. Pet Friendly. WiFi. Plenty of parking & right in town. Upgrades will be continuing. 25 minutes from Nelson & Whitewater Ski Resort, 20 minutes from Backcountry skiing on Kootenay Pass. Salmo is the Hub of the Kootenays, with lower priced accommodation than Nelson. Come and enjoy little Salmo.

We initially booked for three nights, Sunday to Tuesday, but enjoyed the accommodations so much that we decided to extend our stay for one more night to give us more time visiting family in Salmo. Robin and Brian, the owners, are very friendly and welcoming. Catherine keeps the rooms spotlessly clean and was always ready with extra towels. The convenient location made this motel perfect for our visit, since it is in walking distance of both my sons' properties, as well as downtown Salmo.
All in all, our stay could not have been more pleasant. Thanks Robin and Brian. Have a great summer. Oh yes, and thanks Cathy for the extra towels.

We decided due to icy roads to spend the night in Salmo rather than risking carrying onto Creston and ended up finding this little motel. It’s a small, older motel that’s got charm and character. Very friendly owners with cats and dogs of their own and they appear to support animal rescue which I definitely appreciate! I believe there was a sign that they allow dogs which as a dog owner I also appreciate!
Room was clean, we had a kitchenette and electric fireplace; wifi, tv; Alexa, claw foot tub. Walking distance to pub with good food. Definitely would stay here again and recommend it.

Thanks for the review. Sorry we weren’t able to accommodate you for a 2nd night, long weekends can be busy. Yes, Dogs are welcome and we donate all our empty cans to Emergency Animal Rescue. Look forward to having you stay again, if your travels take you through Salmo.

An old style 2 star motel with 4 star looks in a quiet village, well maintained and looked after by the husband & wife team. They have very comfortable beds, a unique bathroom set up, spacious & good to use. A microwave and fridge, kitchen wares to use with a sink. A nice living/dining room with TV and comfortable chairs.
The owners are very accommodating, friendly and helpful. As new owners, they are giving the units a remodel, but it does not interfere with the comforts of staying there.
My wife & I recommend anyone travelling through Salmo to stay a night or 2 there. Excellent price per night.

We arrived after dinner and the room was not cleaned yet. Was told the television did not work. Had to wait while they cleaned and changed the bedding. A noisy compressor turned off and on all night on the refrigerator making it hard to sleep. Barn door almost fell off of the bathroom. Saw lots of mold on the kitchen window ledge. Was given the room with no bathtub which i had requested 1 month prior. I asked the owner 5x for a room rate reduction and she made multiple excuses and charged my creditcard full price. I do not recommend staying there.

Our room was clean, comfortable and cozy. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
I booked the room online months ahead and it was ready and waiting for our late arrival.
Every room has a different vibe.
The room with the king bed is a little on the small side where the other rooms with queen beds are very roomy.
There is a nice seating area outside each room and an outside table for a picnic.
I would recommend the Motel if you are passing through or staying a few days to visit family.

Loved the decor of the room, how cozy and clean the space was, and the cute vintage bathtub in the washroom. We travelled with two small children and there was more than enough space for our family of four. The beds were super comfortable, and staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will def be returning in the future. Thanks Brian and Robyn for your hospitality

We stayed here for one night while touring the Selkirk International Loop. This motel provides basic accommodations in a town with virtually no alternatives. The room was old and small. Bathroom needed updating. We never met any staff. However, it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

We were recommended this motel by a business assoc. and were very happy with the accommodation. The owners are super friendly and amenities were as described and the most important reason for choosing a place is it is kept SUPER CLEAN. The location is right in town and walking distance to all services available. Initially booked for a single night but ended up staying 3 nites. Definitely recommend to anyone travelling.

We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms. They were cute and comfortable. Our only complaint was the very tiny sink in the bathroom. made it very awkward. Our daughter was in a one bedroom and it was very roomy and comfortable. It is also only a few blocks from the stores in Salmo

Like staying in a motor hotel in the 40's, we had the safari room, the decor was pretty cool, loved the chandelier in the separate bedroom! Older motel that has been lovingly updated. The owners are super friendly, got my dog fix, would definitely stay here again. Riders are welcome.
