since making this reservation i have learned to read peoples reviews before making that resrvation. We arrived at 17.00 to locked doors and a mobile Tel. no attached to the door.Upon ringing this No i was informed ,presumably by the Landlord to ring another No which was unanswered.I rang the first No. again and was told by a disgruntled manager theat...

Arrived at 6 pm and no one was there and couldn't get in. Apparently, the staff had forgotten to tell me that there was a code that allowed me to get a key. The person at reception was generally unpleasant and unhelpful. Two days in a row we were awakened for a breakfast we had not ordered. A sign on...

Like the other reviewers, we were locked out of the hotel until after noon. Front door was locked and a sign in the window just gave a mobile phone number to call. Not having a European cell phone, we were reduced to climbing the fire escape trying to get someone's attention. We booked a suite which turned out to be...

This over priced hotel is completly not service oriented. First, reception was only available for about 2 hours a day making it difficult to arrange anything. Secondly, the general manager cannot deal with any complaints without becoming angry, raising his voice, or insulting the guests. His paranoid and angry behavior is like something out of a bad movie. It was...

We went to Leiden because our son, who was on vacation, had a major heart attack and had to have bypass surgery. In our haste to make arrangements we inadvertently booked for the day before we were to arrive. We notified the hotel within 2 days prior to arriving by email because no one answered the phone. The manager informed...

This hotel is supposed to be a 4* hotel. There is no reception or management presence after 9pm each evening so if you arrive after this time you can not get in. Some hotel booking agencies say 10pm but believe me its 9pm sharp. There is no phone number to contact the management and if you ring the hotel as...

Only a couple of blocks from the train station. Only nine rooms, but they have an elevator. The rooms are smallish, but have a tub, safe, chairs and table, and coffee/tea setup (we had a Superior room -- the largest that's not a suite). Wifi was expensive, and breakfast is much cheaper and better had at the train station or...

We thought this was a pretty mainstream hotel (like a Best Western in the U.S.) but when we got there it was clear that this was a small, locally operated hotel that didn't provide 24 hour service. They were waiting for us to arrive. We thought we were getting a queen sized bed, but we got two twins. It was...

We stayed in the Marienpol for three nights for a total of over €600. The hotel looked good on the web but it turned out to be a great disappointment. We stayed in the apartment that came with the kitchen, but were advised that we needed to pay an additional €12.5/day to use the stove. You were not allowed to...

I would consider this hotel more of a large B&B than a proper hotel. It was very clean and the room was nicely docorated and a good size. All the staff were very friendly and checking in was very quick. Its in a good location with only a 5min walk to the pubs and resturants and only a couple of...

“All rooms would be quiet.”

“Our room was on the top floor and had a small balcony (just big enough for a couple of chairs). It faced the street so you could watch the cars/people go by but you could also hear them at night (even with the windows closed) but.... you're in the city so there will be noise.”
