Came for 2 days, stayed the whole week. Centrally located, just short walk from Antwerp's central station. Rooms are a bit outdated but still cozy. During the cold winter it could be a bit cold in rooms due to not so good heat isolation, but I stayed here in pretty warm spring and no problem. Everything is clean, staff nice and helpful. A place to stay again when I am back in Antwerp. ❤️

For 95 euro a night I do not expect much: but I do expect clean sheets and a clean room. And, rest assured, this we got: beds were clean and rooms as well.

However there are a few things that, I think, should be fixed.
First: the electronics - such as airco - is outdated. Our airco was broken, which was no problem since there is a window. What was more annoying is that it continued to hum, even though it did work. In order to shut the thing off, a remote was required as it could not be operated manually. However, the remote was not available in our room. The friendly employee really did all he could to help us, and he got it to shut down eventually. So a very big thank you to him for hospitality and service.
Secondly, in general I think this hotel needs a renovation: some new paint, carpeting and walloutlets.

Breakfast was decent, nothing special but certainly not bad either

So all in all: service 4 , accommodations 3 (breakfast included in this score), room 2

Pros: good location, reasonable price.

Cons: while checking out, the reception lady quite aggressively claimed that I didn't pay city tax. Of course, I paid and the receipt was on the reception table, but she didn't want to check for it, instead, demanding me to pay it again. Eventually she "acctidentally" found the receipt and said "okay, you paid it". No apologies for being rude and wasting my time for absolutely no reason.

Anshu was here. The hotel is just 2 steps away from an all vegetarian Indian hotel - Aahar. It’s centrally located and the city centre is 10-15 minutes walk. The staff is helpful. Overall an average hotel but good for the price. So can consider

We almost walked past the hotel as the sign was not lit up despite being large but then this was after a 7 hour journey anda few driks on the Eurostar. The staff we pleasant and friendly.

The rooms were basic and the double bed booked turned out to be two singles pushed together which though the covers were for singles meant we had lots of room.
Our friends who booked a triple found that their room was the same size as ours but with 3 single beds in meaning that there was not 25cm between the beds.

I was surprised to find no kettle or drinks making facilities in the room at all, not the normal biscuits provided. Instead we got a minibar and selection of snacks that, although not terribly expensive, still had to be paid for. The minibar had a good supply of soft and alcoholic drinks.

The room was quiet during the night and day but, as the hotel is built around a courtyard with the breakfast room below, could get quite noisy at breakfast time. But for us that proved to be an excellent wakeup call.

The breakfast was a continental buffet but had a huge selection. We had a choice of meats, fish, cheeses, cereals, pastries, breads, yoghurts, eggs, fruits and salads, juices, and teas and coffee. You could go back as often as you desired and we were eating beyond the 10am finish, when they just shut the doors but carried on bringing out more croissants.

As a base, the hotel is a 5 min walk from the train station, a 5 min walk from the main shopping area and a 10-15 min walk from the Cathedral, the hotel is ideal but not if you will want to spend more time in the hotel or a lttle more luxury.

We were booked to spend four nights in the Eden Hotel but ended up checking out after two and moving to another hotel in the area. The hotel generally and our room in particular were filthy. There were coffee stains all up the wall in our bedroom, a nail sticking out the wall, chipped plaster, dust and hair on the floors, a piece of chewing gum stuck on the bathroom wall and a toilet cistern that would randomly start filling and draining noisily in the night.

We asked to move rooms several times and were always told no. I asked for a couple of spare pillows and was told it was unlikely they would be able to get me any - they finally showed up with one spare, however they were very poor quality, lumpy and unsupportive.

The room was so dusty that my husband and I both got bad sinus headaches which (coupled with the fact that we could not even move to another room) caused us to check out and move to another hotel at 11pm at night. The front of house staff are incredibly rude, unhelpful and patronising. We paid our city tax up front when we checked in at the hotel's request but then they refused to offer us a refund for the two nights we wouldn't now be spending with them at Hotel Eden. I was told there was nothing they could do and that I had to email management if I had a complaint. We ended up having to pay again at the new hotel we moved to.

Frankly the Hotel Eden was a very costly mistake that ruined our city break in Antwerp. We ended up paying in excess of £250 to move at short notice to another hotel but it was worth every penny to get away from the place.

Hotel Eden does not at all compare with its historical name! Everything looks worn out, furniture is old, skracted, filled with stains of various origin and lashing on all legs. Walls are stainy, roof suffers from old Water damage with plaster loose and bubbling. The building itself is ugly industry like with noise from people and machinery outside. The aircon breathes hot, stinking air like a dead rat breath. This review might sound somewhat harsh, but I have been to many hotels and this is certainly much below average. For the price much better standards can easily be found.
Parking announced free, but this is in a parking house far away and must be paid for.
I wont recommend this.

We arrived late at night to Antwerp. This hotel was booked on famous site. It had nice pic and good rating. Receptionist hardly explained in English where is the parking (20€ per day). Parking place was small and it smelled not nice at the ground floor. We were tired and directly went to sleep. Next morning we were terrified by room interior. Everything was dirty, old and broken. Never saw such dirty hotel. Everyone should see this pic before booking this hotel. Don't stay there! Don't ruin your trip!

I was in Antwerp for about 24 hours in August and it started off with a small disaster: my bag with my hotel bookings, my old tablet and a few other non-critical items was stolen on the train into Antwerp. Note to travellers taking the train in Belgium (and Europe generally): watch your stuff!! Thefts are rampant and criminals will try to distract with various tactics, such as attempting to talk to you or dropping some change under your seat, in order to steal your belongings. Some brazen criminals will just take your stuff and run, especially when the train is stopped at a station with its doors open. I wish a fiery or watery death on all of these criminals.

In any event, when I eventually got wifi and figured out the hotel I was staying at (this one!), I checked in with no problems and got my key. I was at that point told that the elevator was broken and had to lug my large suitcase up three floors. When I got up to my room and went to change some passwords on my online accounts (had to do this due to the theft of the tablet), I found that the wifi was not working. Turns out the internet was down in the whole hotel, other than the front desk.

This is where the great staff came in. I explained my situation and complained to the front desk that the internet was out. The person at the front desk let me use her computer to check my key accounts and reprint some documents. For that, I am very thankful. She was also great at explaining where to go and what to do in Antwerp. Overall, a very positive experience with the people at this hotel.

The room itself was on the small side, but more than enough for one person for one night. The hotel was quite clean and well maintained. If the elevator and wifi are fixed, I would have no issues recommending this hotel. Only potential concern is that this hotel is on a one-way side street and at night it is somewhat dark. People who are very concerned about safety may wish to consider a hotel closer to a well-lit main street. Having said that, I had no actual safety concerns at any time at this hotel or the surrounding areas.

Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast - hot & cold buffet. 24/7 coffee/tea gratis in reception. Secure parking €20 per day. A bit of a walk from centre of town - 20 mins maybe. Good value room rate - we paid €65 per room B&B in August. Free WiFi in room - worked perfectly. Would stay here again without question. Try De Groote Witte Arend restaurant (see TA reviews).
