The A-STAY is a self consciously cool hotel, but the rooms were comfortable and the location, adjacent to Antwerp Central station very convenient. Much of the decor is raw concrete. The bedside lights are not currently working (you could borrow an extra lamp if necessary).
If you are in a twin with a friend/relative, it's worth noting that the toilet & shower were in a frosted glass cubicle (I was on my own so no problem).
I didn't have breakfast as it's very expensive at €19, even the coffee and pastry at €5 wasn't a great deal. Self service beer and pizzas in the evening offer better value! There's a free library by reception.

I would definitly recommend this hotel.
It's situated within walking distance of the train station and the shopping street.
Normally there is self check-in and check-out but a staff member is available to help if necessary.
The room was clean and spacious enough.
I had to get used to the fact that the bathroom sinks were in the room and not inside a bathroom. I also had to get used to the glass shower wall, which luckily isn't see through.
There were fun quotes on the elevators and the mirrors in the halls, which was a nice touch.
Even though the hotel is close to the train station, there is no noise from passing trains.
I will stay here again in the future when I go to a concert at the Sportpaleis.

Dont know how to call this place hostel or hotel its a mix , a very different concept. Lets start. The rooms are quite big and modern , bathrooms is quite big too. Now odd things according in my view. No room phone , no cupboard to keep cloths. Funny lighting in the room. Laundry u need to do by yourself in laundry room, no room service. Breakfast in OK.

I stayed in a hotel for almost 2 weeks and had a “full stay” which includes breakfast and daily cleaning. Cleaning service was terrible, only changed towels and soap, but didn’t clean anything else at all. After a week it was disgusting to stay in such a room. I told to receptionist about this cleaning problem, and the next day they kind of cleaned ( moved the dust from visible places under the bed).
Everything else was good in a hotel, but dirty room ruined my stay.

Let's start with the positives, and there are many of those. To start, the rooms and bathrooms are large, new, and very clean (when I say large, I mean North American size room, not European). The bed was comfortable and soft with lots of pillows, and I slept very well here. Amenity wise, the hotel has a self-service area where you can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks and a large comfy lounge area to sit and enjoy. I purchased the breakfast, which included both hot and cold food options, as well as cappuccino, espresso, etc. (Breakfast is buffet style). The hotel also has a small gym and self-serve laundry service. So, the few small issues I had here relate to the technology and design of the rooms, which includes a TV based interface to control everything from lights to AC and heat. The system seemed a bit over the top to control lights and heat, and it didn't always work as advertised (in fact, mine malfunctioned, and nobody seemed able to fix it). Lastly, the whole bathroom is a shower (even though the huge size of the bathroom would have allowed a door inatallation), so you have to mop the floors with your shower mat after each shower or deal with wet socks or feet.
So, in conclusion, a really nice hotel with a few minor issues, definitely recommended.

Due to the covid19 measures and the first lockdown in April 2020, our stay in the 3 booked and paid rooms could not continue. We were allowed to rebook at a later date and because we did not have a crystal ball at hand, we could not immediately communicate this on the telephone. Finally we rebooked for October 24th. However, there was a second lockdown from 19 October. And again we have asked for a postponement for a new date that had to be December 30, 2020 at the latest. Unfortunately, we again did not have a crystal ball to determine a date at that time. At this very moment the catering industry is still closed and we asked to postpone it to 2021. Not so: we initially had to propose a new date by October 23 at the latest ...

Great stay for 2 nights to visit the Christmas markets. Central location, right next to the station - although Antwerp is very walkable so actually didn't need to use the local transport.

The room was big, very clean and bed very comfy, especially the pillows which I'm normally very fussy about! The cotbed they had set up for my baby was clean and positioned nicely. The sink was outside of the separate shower and toilet rooms which was maybe a bit unusual but not at all an issue. The only thing is the pad that you operate the lights from is right next to the bed head and shines out blue light all night long, which kept me up a bit.

The hotel is modern and cool in decor, and they had a self service operation down in the reception with a pour your own beer for 3.5 euro! What's not to like!

This has been one of the worse hotel experiences we have had. My partner and I went for a two night city trip to Antwerp. The hotel caught our attention as it seemed very modern/clean/well maintained. While the aesthetic is indeed quite nice, it a terrible infrastructure and possibly the most incompetent staff as far as hospitality goes. We asked for things at reception that were not delivered/followed up on; the ‘easy check in/out’ terminal experience is a myth, with all monitors taped off and everything being done ‘the old fashion way’. Reception staff let people cut queues and laughed at me when pointing out I had been waiting. Fire alarm went off at 4 am and staff bundled everyone in the hotel lobby whilst they investigated the reason - it does not take a genius to know that fire safety area = outside not inside, staff gave no explanation or apology re the fire alarm. Both my partner and I went back to bed thinking it this had been a real fire we would have been in a lot of danger. It was a terrible end to our trip.

To top it off after leaving we get in inundated with emails from them. This hotel may look very charming but it’s purely aesthetics/exterior and good photography skills, 0 hospitality. We felt very cheated and highly recommend anyone going to Antwerp to chose somewhere else to stay, don’t be fooled by aesthetic.

Lovely clean comfortable hotel, right near the train station, staff are very friendly and helpful and all thankfully spoke English I was only there for 8 hours so was delighted to have somewhere reasonably priced to have a shower and rest for a few hours, parking was free which is a real bonus and lovely comfortable large lounge sprinkled with tables chairs, comfy armchairs and couches drinks and snacks great hang out

was a little confused at first finding my way up from carpark as reception area is called "playroom"? and staff only spaces are called "local"? all in all excellent would definately visit again

Modern hotel, I stayed here multiple times if I have to be in Antwerpen for two days at a time. The staff is friendly. The rooms are a bit small for my taste, the shower is good and big enough, to control the room you have to use an interface on the television. The television doesn't have much channels but you can use a chromecast. The only consistent problem I encountered is the blinds that don't close or open all the way. But then again, if you have a problem the staff is more than willing to help if you just ask them.
