We had a blast! The location and building are perfect, the rooms are outstanding (they take care of every little detail). The staff is very caring and lovely. We asked for breakfast, who was served in the room and it was excellent.
We booked a night in this hotel, using the possibility “knuffelcontact” action. During Two weeks in Brussels, the top class hotels give the opportunity to spend one (very cheap) night. This to fight the horrible circonstances the hotels have to face in this terrible corona times ... Knowing that Steigenberger Wilcher’s is THE TOP hotel in Brussels, where lots of famous people, royals, politics,... stay when visiting Brussels... we were really anxious to spend the night. And we can say without lying that it is a real good hotel. When i see people rate it “bad” or “very bad” i reallly wonder in what world those people live. If they want “ bad” or “really bad” i can give them a few other adresses in Brussels :-) So “good” or even “very good” i would rate the hotel. Not perfect .... it is hard to say something negative. But a few remarks anyway. In my eyes ... In that way they could become “perfect” For the Belgian readers, i do not have to explaine that “language” is a big issue in Belgium. I always speak dutch in Brussels. I can speak english or french but i find it normal to speak my native language. So .... approaching check-inn .... speaking dutch.... and .... yes! ..... the man at the desk responded in dutch.it was very obvious that dutch was not his native language but het spoke it anyway !! So ... thumbs up for Wilchers! ... thats the way i should be everywhere in Brussels! I was positively surprised .... after a phonecall the previous day that predicted otherways. First negative point for wilchers .... it is a good thing to have an answering machine on all incoming phonecalls .... its a good thing that you can chose your language .... but when the person that accept the call at the end start with “ Steigenberger bonjour” the chose of language 1 minute earlyer becomes ridiculous. Room is more than OK ... bright, clean, spacious, ... While making the reservation i mentionned that we would be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary this weekend. A nice big hart on the bed, a litlle card to congratulate and a belgian chocolat .... second time ... big thumbs up for Wiltchers. We had dinner ( in the room, corona you know,.. ) of cours .... not a surprise .... room service was quite expensive .... but is was worth the money. Good food, well prepared ... The next morning .... breakfast ... in the room ..... While doing check in the previous day we could write down our wishes about breakfast. None of our wishes was respected, so it is a litlle bit strange to ask for your guests wishes if you do not respect them anyway. One thing i really find negative, i really cannot understand is ....a five star hotel that provides a little bottle of industrial orange juice. Freshly pressed orangejuice is the least to expect in a big famous hotel like Wiltchers. I was really disappointed ... Further more .... breakfast was ok. Lots of variety... maybe a tip .... little capsules of milk to use in your coffee can be quite usefull for the hotel, but it gives a cheap impression, a little milk jug would do much better. Last detail ... the man that brought our breakfast to the room brought everiting on one big plate. When i asked forba small table ( like for dinner, the night before) the man looked really surprised. When i explained to the man we really needed a table to have breakfast he left the room and came back 5 minutes later with a mobile table. So ... all well that ends well ... but a little strange anyway. So like i said before .... maybe these remarks are nitpicking .... i my eyes it makes the difference between “very good” and “perfect”…
Stayed for one night in the Steigenberger Wiltcher's with my wife and we had a great time. This 5 star property is a real jewel in Brussels. Of course not all services were available as traveling during the Covid pandemic obliges certain restrictions which is totally understandable. This was our first time but definitely not our last time as you will see us back in the future. Thank you to all the staff for their contribution to this great experience.
The property is magnificent and the location is a great one close to all kinds of shopping and food locations are just a few blocks away. The reception staff , specially Stephanie , helped me arrange a stroll around th Brussels central area and a day trip to Brugge. She was magnificent and incredibly helpful.
If you are in Brussels for business or holiday, you should consider this hotel. Everyone from the front desk to the floor attendants are absolutely gracious. I love the rooms here...especially the attention to detail (small brass fittings are polished!, and I especially like the heated bathroom floors...on demand of course!). With covid, everyone is on edge about traveling...I can assure you that they are very thorough, yet in a way that makes one feel it’s alright, and comfortable. I have stayed here a number of times before, but never took the time to write about it. Again, I love this hotel!
