The food is lovely as are the staff but try to get a room in the house rather than the cottages outside they are much nicer. I managed to change my room and the staff were very helpful. The volcano and La Paz are nearby its surrounded by lush farmland. The main house is very stylish.

I stayed in the lodge for 3 nights but I wished I spent more time there . I Had a Room in the main building which was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the valley and the volcano and tastefully decorated. But what really makes this lodge stands out from many others I have stayed in the past is the friendliness...

This was one of the most wonderful places we stayed during our trip. The main house had a very tasteful, warm and cozy atmosphere and dinner there was very nice too. The food was great and so was the wine. The rooms were just a beautifully appointed as the main house and we were very comfortable. Given the chilly nights,...

This is a really interesting spot high up in the hills. We were a little concerned on the long lane way into the lodge as there were local cows using the lane as well. Any concerns disappeared at check in. Our room was huge with a great shower that had glass windows to the outside, no modesty here. We had...

Very comfortable place to stay when visiting the area of Poas volcano. Lodge clean and very comfortable public areas with open fires and food very appetising. The only fault was the receptionist who was nothing short of unwelcoming and abrupt. She let the whole place down.

Intimate setting. The staff greeted us outside and personally walked us to our rooms and attended to us almost butler style! I like that! The room was musty I believe from the humidity. Clean. Be careful on the floors. They have throw rugs and if you are barefoot or have shoes on, it is easy, very easy to slip and...

If you're keen to visit the Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens (both of which we'd recommend highly), then the location of this lodge can't be beaten. This lovely place is set in nice grounds on one side of a working dairy farm. The common areas/lounge are lovely and the rooms a beautifully appointed, spacious and quiet. Food in...

My wife and I stayed at this lodge for 5 nights following a cruise through the Panama Canal. I had contacted the lodge months before we went, and they are very responsive to email messages. We had lined up tours every day, and the lodge provided a private guide for the 2 of us (muchas gracias Wilbert!!). They are very...

We were only here for one night, but this is a great place to stay with lovely views from the property and some good options for walking. Our room was clean and thoughtfully outfitted; it included a kettle, coffee press and supplies, and they even put a hot-water bottle in our bed when they turned it down for us! We...

The Poás Volcano Lodge is an amazing choice to stay if you want to see the Volcano Poás or the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. We really enjoyed our night there and we could have stayed at least one night longer because we liked the lodge so much. The rooms are very nice and comfy, but it can get quite cold...
