Positives:- Parking, Decor, Room, Views, Location, Surroundings. Negatives:- Customer service - Staff do not speak any English, well barely speak at all, hardly acknowledge you! The bar - for some strange reason, when requested, the staff would not allow us to have our drinks outside on the beautiful terrace, we were cooped up in the small and stuffy indoor bar area which is a massive misuse of the only selling point to this hotel - People come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the amazing views. We were told that the outdoor area is for the restaurant only, however considering that we visited during the pandemic, no one was sitting outside anyway! Additionally to this, yet again the service by the young and in experienced staff let this place down - we struggled to order a simple coke in the bar area, which in 2020 really should not be a problem, especially considering this is a university town! Unfortunately we would not stay here again, which is a shame as the property itself and the location are stunning.

Dear Guest, Thanks for your comments regarding your time at Château de Namur. Château de Namur is a training school which allows Namur Provincial Hotel School students to be in real-life situations and are supervised and assisted by professionals. Therefore your feedback is very valuable for us to highlight areas in which our students may need more training. We regret that some new measures were introduced for your welfare and that of our team members, following official guidelines and are sorry for any inconvenience. One of these was to close our terrace outside of the restaurant opening hours and used only if pre-booked for a meal. We hope we will be able to reopen it soon and hope you will be able to enjoy this next time you stay with us. Although our trainees do speak a very little English they might not always feel completely at ease. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Front Office team or one of the Maître D's who would be more than happy to assist with any concerns you may have in English. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Cédric VANDERVAEREN, Manager

Only stayed a night here with a mate. The hotel is situated a short drive from the town centre. I don't really know how long it would take to walk it, but it'll certainly take 20mins or more. The hotel looks, very grand and the rooms look pretty decent to. The only thing that looks aged is the bathroom. You have fixtures that look like they're from the 80's. But bar that, everything seemed pretty clean and it was lovely to have a Nespresso machine in the room. The only let down for me was the breakfast, they merely give you a tray containing a boiled egg, two cuts of cured meat, a slice of cheese, a croissant, a yoghurt and some bread. But for me that wasn't enough, especially considering how much i was paying.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are pleased you found our location convenient; your positive feedback encourages our team to continue upholding our high standards. We have taken note of your remarks and will take them into consideration for the future. We regret that due to recent restrictions for your welfare we are currently not allowed to serve our usual breakfast buffet, instead, we are now offering a continental breakfast where everything is placed on the table and all the products are prepackaged to adhere to the strictest sanitary standards while offering a varied choice at a competitive price. We have introduced a reduced breakfast rate to reflect this change. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back on a future occasion. Kind regards, Cédric VANDERVAEREN, Manager

Spent one night at the top of the hill at this chateau with beautiful views. Beds were very comfortable and room was big with a good shower. Service was great. The hotel bar was open at night and beers were very reasonable. It appears the hotel does lots of meetings. The city center is a short drive down the hill (don't miss restaurant Chez Bouboule for mussels). While the rooms were very comfortable, some of the hotel is a bit worn, slight musty smell, but nothing that would prevent a good night's sleep.

Stayed two nights in the junior suite. The hotel is in a perfect location, easy walking distance to the citadel and a good base for day trips. The rooms are clean but nothing spectacular. In my opinion, the reason to stay here is the restaurant which is fantastic. Nice to have two dinners as it gave us the chance to try/experience different menu options. The staff was friendly and very helpful, especially the dining room staff. The only negative is the television in the sitting room was not functional and when we mentioned it to the front desk after the first night it was promised to be fixed but was not. Otherwise a great stay and would stay again.
