This hotel is a good base for a cycling holiday around Bruges! You can also hire your bikes here directly, electric or not. It is quietly located outside the busy city centre, close to a few cycle junctions and a 15-minute walk from the (tiny) railway station Bruges-Sint-Pieters. The room is simple but sufficiently spacious and contains all the necessary comforts, such as a mini-fridge, sufficient power sockets and various USB-charging points. The hotel has a covered bicycle parking where you can charge your electric bikes. There is a free sauna and fitness for guests and a petanque court :) In June 2021, breakfast is still served in the room. It is hearty & tasty, but always the same. There must be better alternatives than the mini plastic cups of chocolate spread, jam and butter. I am certain that is because of Corona and the 'normal' breakfast buffet is plastic-free. When the weather is good, you can dine outside on the terrace with the tables at sufficient distance from the other guests. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and deserves a compliment for that little extra they spontaneously give! The only downside is the very limited effort the hotel seems willing to make in terms of sustainability. The 2 showers in the sauna have refillable dispensers, but in the room you find those unfortunate mini-tubes of shampoo and shower gel. Even the (drinking) cups in your bathroom are plastic and individually wrapped (again, in plastic). There are only two vegetarian dishes (salads!) on the menu, which is a shame. The hotel offers you a whole folder with cycling routes you can take a look at. Only in Bruges itself, cycling was a precarious undertaking - and I don't mean because of the many cobbled roads! It is unworthy of a modern (touristic) city to come across such dangerous crossroads for pedestrians and cyclists, especially at the city's "gates" where large avenues and canals cross. The number of bicycle lanes that suddenly 'disappear' into the road is impossible to keep up with. And I haven't seen a single intersection where you do not have to give way as a cyclist to the cars (shark's tooth painted on the road) or where you brutally have to stop (wide, continuous line painted on the road). The cars still rule in this (tiny) city, so be sure to explore the beautiful surroundings by bike (far) outside the city centre ;)

Nice hotel to stay close to Bruges. Especially nice for doing the tour of Bruges by bicycle. The hotel is a good 4 stars hotel, extremely clean, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a very nice bathroom. The materials are all good and well kept. The WIFI works very well and requires no special logon - simple is beautiful. There is a nice fitness centre and spacious sauna. The staff is extremely kind. Very good value for money.
