This was a fabulous stay. The hotel is very beautiful with every public room being lavish but not overdone. It is bang on the canal which makes the place special The staff were extraordinarily kind and thoughtful, anticipating our needs rather than just answering questions. It wasnt cheap, but given how wonderful it was, it was good value. It is in a great location. A five minute walk from the very centre of the city but blissfully quiet. There are very good restaurants nearby, which they will be happy to advise on and book for you in advance if you give them a call.
We visited Hotel Van Cleef for the second time in early March as a small getaway (first visit in September 2020). This is a lovely boutique hotel - the level of luxury within all the details is great - lavish furnishings and deco. The various common areas are so lovely - and the hosts ensure you feel at home within the hotel. So welcoming and attentive to whatever you may need during your stay without being overbearing. Rooms are very comfortable - as well as the bathroom with bath products that smell lovely. Splurge for the canal view - it’s beyond worth it (we were additionally upgraded to a suite and appreciated the extra space as well). Breakfast is fresh and delicious (currently served in room due to Covid measures). The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Bruges by foot. It’s just outside the hustle and bustle - with everything still located a stones throw away. We will absolutely be returning to stay at Hotel Van Cleef to rest, recharge and enjoy the city of Bruges. Covid note: we visited at a time when no restaurants were open and deliveroo’d food to the hotel which was no problem. It’s also possible for dinner to be prepared at the hotel provided you request this on time during the day.…
Unique setting in the historic centre of Bruges. But the thing that makes this such a memorable place to stay is the very warm welcome by the owners, the Vanhaecke family, & their dedicated staff, they are incredibly helpful during the entire stay !
