We booked this hotel due to its First World War historical significance..the trenches and battle artefacts recovered from its grounds and it's location with the Hooge crater museum, numerous battles and closeness to the Menin Gate, for which the daily 8pm ceremony should not be missed. The hotel itself is typically Belgium French charming shabby chic.. Staff are warm and...

Stayed here for two nights in a ground floor room which was very traditional but immaculately clean. No tea or coffee making facilities in room but I'm sure if we had asked it would have been done for us. First night we ate at the hotel and had the best steak and pepper sauce ever! Breakfast was equally as good,...

We stayed one night on July 1, 4 rooms. Requested a ground floor room for my elderly father, were given 2. Rooms clean comfortable and excellent showers. Perfect location for Ypres, easy to get to, easy parking, friendly staff etc but quiet. . Breakfast was good, nice eggs, good coffee. Seems like a popular stop off for cyclists too. We...

I didn't stay at the hotel but visited the Hooge Crater in its grounds. It was a €1 donation in the honesty box on the gate. There is a bunker to go into and the remnants for all sorts around the edges of the crater itself. It is quite muddy and a bit unsteady in places so you have to...

We drove past it as the signage is lost in the trees, but it is right next door to the Hooghe Muesum. This is the first hotel I have been given 3 keys and told to choose! Two in the main building and one in the new. Chose one in the main building as it was big and had small...

Great Hotel, in a quiet area, beautiful garden which has been made into an open air museum, showing battle sites, bunkers, trenchs (which you can walk through) etc.. Very well done, cost 1 euro to enter. Hotel itself has large rooms, a comfortable bed, desk and safe. Bathroom a little outdated in décor but good size. Good light breakfast but...

Good location for exploring Ypres and all its environs. The Hooghe crater in the grounds is an added bonus! A unique hotel with easy parking. Room comfortable but needs a little modernisation, especially the ensuite bathroom. Breakfast basic but fresh, tasty and plentiful (mostly cold continental options). Staff friendly. Don't miss the Last Post at the Menin Gate (8pm every...

Was in the older part of the hotel which has a superb view of the garden and pond area beside the hotel. Rooms very clean and comfortable finished in an older period style. Very quiet with no overnight noise disturbance. Breakfast was a selection of tea/coffee, cold meats and cheese, breads, rolls and croissant which was very nice. Staff were...
