A traditional Basque stone-walled baserri with a rustic interior combined with modern amenities. Built in 1723 and sensitively converted to a family-run B & B, it is an oasis within a silent empty rural Hamlet and just metres from the Way. Not much moves here and you can forget about alternative accommodation choices, rowdy bars and the like - but...

We arrived at Hotel Akerreta, having walked from Roncesvalles and we were ready for a well deserved rest. Our expectations were by far exceeded, this is a beautiful old farmhouse restored to the highest standards. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. WE booked dinner in the hotel that evening, four adults and four children aged between ten and fourteen. Without...

We were booked here as part of our camino walk, what a real blessing, it was an absolute pleasure to experience this establishment and the warmness we received. We even had the balcony room over the courtyard, which made my wife happy. The food was one of the best meals we have had in Europe. It was a beef stew...

Jose Marie was a great host! Very accommodating, great rooms, great dinner, great breakfast, great drinks! The hotel has been tastefully restored and has many places to sit and recover from a long days walk. It's worth the extra mile or two to stay here overnight!

We were walking the Camino and instead of stopping at Zubiri or Larrasoaña we walked in the heat onto Hotel Akerreta. But it was definitely worthwhile. The hotel itself is very tastefully restored to leave the character of the original building. The rooms are very nice indeed, especially for the weary traveller. Our host spoke English enough to have a...

Stayed here last Friday , a lovely welcome, lots of informative chat about the history of the building when we asked, it was very interesting to us, we loved the whole place, it was a privilege and pleasure to stay in a home that has been restored with such love and care. Had our laundry done, a real treat! Good...

The simple luxury of this hotel was a much needed break from the Camino. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the whole guesthouse in general is very charming. Dinner was made from food from their garden, fresh and delicious. I spoke with the owner for a while and you could tell he had put a lot of care and...

I literally cried tears of joy when I toured this hotel! Not only is it a fantastically luxurious and perfectly lovely embrace after a long hard day walking the Camino, the incredible renovation and restoration of an ancient Basque farmhouse is like that of a museum! We were the last guests of the season, and all I could think was...

As a pilgrim on the route to Santiago I arrived at this hilltop hamlet and passing the hotel I asked for a room to rest my tired body. Joseph welcomed me in and I enjoyed a comfortable room and a great 3 course dinner with wine. A great stop for someone looking for a break from hostels along the way....

This hotel was reccommended to us by a friend and boy was he right. The owner Josef was so welcoming and extremely helpful - he made arrangements for our luggage to be forwarded to a hotel in Pamplona and he also checked out bus time tables for us. Rather than walk into Larrsoana we decided to have our meal there...
