Closest motel to bon echo provincial national park with fantastic fishing and kayaking. Estimated 5000 lakes around sand beach . Motel is on Hwy41 right across from gas station. Amazing opportunity for ice fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, atv’ing, boating and motorcycling getaways!!!

Three couples booked one room each: one couple staying for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday), the others for 1 night (Saturday). There was no water available at all on Friday so no showers or washing; water restored by Saturday night, but no offer for compensation or reimbursement. There are no dining or snacking options except for the gas station/convenience store across the highway. The rooms were clean but 'clinical' - felt like an old institution. There is NO cell phone reception at all in the rooms, poor reception in hallway - you have to go outside. The exterior is kind of sad and grim, especially considering the incredible area the Inn is located in - nothing nice to see but highway, gas station and someone's home behind the motel. We were all checked out in plenty of time early Sunday morning, but my SIL discovered that she'd been billed for an additional night's stay on Monday! We are still trying to get in touch with the Inn but they do not seem to answer their phone or emails. I regret booking there at all and that I am unable to recommend this place to anyone.

this hotel has been recently redone in part. there are new wood floors and it has been painted. The room had a good air system but the plumbing needs to be redone in room 202. there is a cozy bar and the owner is available for serving drinks at a reasonable price. the restaurant is good. the food is basic but very tasty. don't expect to be rushed and the breakfast opens at 900 hrs. If the rooms had coffee machines, then we would be happy to wait.

stayed 2 nights over the labour day weekend. the room was clean but very very outdated. Orange 70's carpet....no deadbolts on room door - wouldn't have stayed without my husband been there. Only thing that looked relatively new was the tv, however Wi-Fi was too spotty to watch Netflix. It was a decent place to sleep and shower - better then a tent.

My husband and I stayed from Aug 25-28, 2023 and had a beyond horrible experience. There was garbage all over the property as well as vehicles filled with garbage. Cigarette butts and containers of cooking grease sitting out. Absolutely filthy room with gross stained towels, water stained ceilings with sagging drywall seams above the beds, and the bedding was just vile. The photos speak for themselves. The water there also made us both sick with gastro issues for weeks after we left. There was a loud constant beeping noise that went off 24 hours a day, it sounded like an alarm of sorts that was being ignored. We were sold on the motel having a restaurant and saw many social media posts prior to our arrival advertising the restaurant and food. When we arrived we were told the restaurant was CLOSED and wouldn’t be opening? Nobody communicated this to guests, and up north there are not a lot of options. We had planned to eat there! We had to try to find a grocery store, waste gas to backtrack and there was no method to cook anything in the filthy disgusting room (aside from a filthy microwave, so gross) so we were barely able to eat!!! It was the worst trip we have ever been on and we are both well travelled. How is this acceptable? The towels were filthy, the light bulbs in the washroom were exposed and dirty, and the washroom ceiling fan was truly repulsive. I sent the mgmt the same photos and review and asked why their guests were treated much like the garbage surrounding their building? No response, and I’m not surprised. The place is a joke. They didn’t do anything to resolve the issues when we were there and they couldn’t even bother to reply to a customer. Avoid at all costs! It’s better to camp at Bon Echo!

This quaint little motel is close to Bon Echo Provincial Park, which makes it a great option if you want to visit the park without camping. We stayed for 3 nights, the service is very friendly. Roxanne and her daughter Courtney are very helpful. The restaurant unfortunately wasn’t open when we were there but they helped us find nearby places to go eat. Nice comfortable room with TV, a mini fridge and microwave. They even brought us a kettle for tea. Very peaceful place to stay.

We were very excited to spend a long weekend at Bon Echo Park. It’s a really nice park and we enjoyed it a lot. But unfortunately I can’t say the same about this motel. Long story short:
First of all the lady who met us at the reception was high . Before we enter this motel she was smoking weed at the main entrance. This lady was unwelcomed and very rude at the very beginning. Maybe she had a bad day, I don’t know. But when couldn’t find my reservation by name I offered her a confirmation number but she said in a very rude way that my confirmation number means nothing to her.
When we finally got our room we saw there extremely dirty AC and asked her to replace a room. She said that she has a full house which is not true. Because before asking for another room I checked on the website and they still has available rooms. In addition, they had a sign at the main entrance saying “ vacancy”.
She said : “I don’t care what website shows to you. I have no other room for you. If you don’t like it , you can get out of my motel.”
Of course we decided to leave right away. So far I’m fighting to get a refund , but seems like booking.com can’t help me in this situation and that lady told us that she won’t return our money and we can ask about a refund who ever we want.
UPDATE: Today , when I was trying to talk to them over the phone they were hanging up every time they heard my name and only said to me : you don’t get anything from us, good luck with your refund. Bye!
Unfortunately, booking.com can’t force the property to give me a refund , but the gentleman on the phone Giorgi J was really trying to help me. He listened to my story and offered to me a 20% compensation from booking.com behalf’s. This is a max that they can do in this situation. I really appreciate it . It really shows how the respect their customers.
Lakeside Inn team should learn how to treat and communicate with people.

I would rank this a 0 but had Trip Advisor says I had to put something. We showed up (2 couples - 2 rooms) and the hotel was dirty, messy, A/C was not working in 38 degree weather, restaurant was closed, and the woman working was one of the most miserable people we have ever met. She was rude and condescending to us and we ended up cancelling our reservation. We did not feel comfortable to stay there. Since there is nowhere else to go in this area, we ended up driving 3 hours all the way back home. Such a disappointment for a long-awaited weekend away of kayaking at Bon Echo. I would not recommend this run-down place to anyone.

I've been to a lot of holes around the world but this tops them all. Probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to. How donyou screw up breakfast? 1 hour for undercooked potatoes and reheated sausages that have the texture of sawdust. A cheese omlette that was eggs with processed cheese placed on top ! Overdone toast. Technically it was food. My 12 year old can cook better. Coffee was not bad .

We stayed for 2 nights at the mazina Inn and we had a very pleasant visit. The manager Roxeanne was very sweet and helped with everything we needed. Rooms were cleaned and well maintained. Left with great memories. Would recommend to anyone needing somewhere to stay in the area.
