I spent 27 most wonderful days at the Shafston Greathouse and it was absolutely fantastic. The place, I consider to be very charmingly rustic, clean, accommodating atmosphere, fantastic view overlooking the Caribbean Sea, very romantic place to be and away from it all. This place has a wonderful a hide-away feel to it that only people like would understand once...

Quite the drive up to the house, but definitely worth it. The house is very old and creaky, but structurally sound with views that cannot be beat. Very natural like, kind of in the middle of a rainforest on the side of a mountain, very cool! Location makes it very safe and each room has it's own lock. Definitely the...

Filthy dirty , unwelcoming appearance , Alcoholic & dimented owner who will rip you off when you don't see it coming , and not a place you want to be stuck at , as it is far off the beaten path that is very difficult getting to aswell as leaving from ,that is , if he will even let you...

My boyfriend & I actually stayed here about 5 years ago. It was my first of many trips to Jamaica & I wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with the touristy areas such as Ocho Rios or Negril. Nor do I now. This place is not for you if you need television, dance clubs, bars or college student filled hotels &...

If you want to go to stay somewhere with all the home comforts, then go to one of the all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica. If you've got a bit more of sense of adventure, then Shaftston is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. The drive up to the house is a bit hair-raising, but we easily managed...

This hotel was once a buzz of activity with travellers and those prepared to venture off the beaten track for amazing views. Frank the owner is a very friendly host. Highly recommended for the view but not a luxury stay in terms of facilities. Excellent breakfast and dinner and free alcohol included in the price.

Don’t go there. Everything it’s run down. There are no guests, it’s like in the horror-movie. Maybe it was a nice place 10 years ago.
