Before heading to Spain after our journey in Portugal, my wife and I spent a couple of days in Evora. While in Evora, we stayed at M'Ar De Ar Aqueduto. In contrast to the remains of the ancient aqueduct which still stands within a short walk, this hotel features smooth lines and modern appointments throughout, including the lobby and the rooms. The color palette is neutral and features shades of gray, black and white. The staff was friendly and accommodating with both check-in and check-out going very smoothly.

We stayed in Room 106, which is on the ground floor and a short walk from the lobby. The room was comfortable, but simple with a comfortable bed and a spotlessly clean modern bathroom. The wood floors did add a bit of warmth to the room. The hotel includes a lovely outdoor landscape which includes a swimming pool with an ample amount of chaise lounges and towels for guests. The outdoor garden also offers great views of the nearby aqueduct. The hotel also has the DeGust’Ar Restaurant on site which is a great convenience for guests.

M'Ar De Ar Aqueduto provided a comfortable “home” during my short stay in Evora.

Nice and convenient hotel. Altough Covid-19 doesn’t make things easy, we felt very relaxed and safe. Clean and cosy rooms and the whole city within walking distance. We tried the restaurant and this is definitely worth the visit! The premium wine selection with the menu was amazing for a very reasonable price

The hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. There is hotel on site parking that is included with the cost. The hotel amenities are amazing! The hotel offers an incredible indoor pool and a great outdoor pool, they also include a spa, two steam rooms, sauna, and many other pleasant surprises. They have a delicious restaurant (which is expensive), and also have breakfast (all at the same restaurant) included with the cost. The rooms were super nice and luxurious! We were very satisfied. The room opens with a key card they give you, and the room is not hard to get to since there is only one floor up in the hotel. The hotel is accessible, with a elevator and ramps in places. I highly recommend this great hotel!

Right after unpacking( 4 weeks of lugging), we discovered that the mattress was old, uneven, definitely at the end of its life. The front desk tried to find a replacement one without success and gracefully offered an upgrade to a suite. We declined as it was late in the evening, after a long day on the road and facing the inconvenience of packing and unpacking all over. Three uncomfortable nights in a five stars hotel!
Breakfast area was unorganized and overwhelmed by the group of bikers. Few old fruits, leftover pastries on Monday morning, not very appealing.

We spent several weeks exploring various parts of Portugal and staying at numerous 5 star hotels. While this hotel wasn't my least favorite, it definitely wasn't my favorite. The staff members seemed to not want to be bothered even when asking simple questions. They were very rude and did their best to politely shoo us away. The rooms were a good size and the hotel was nice but our room was infested with ants. They were everywhere including the desk, nightstands and bathroom. When brought up to the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do. Dirty towels also weren't taken away when left on the floor, as per hotel policy, so we had to look for the cleaning ladies every time we needed something.

Presently with a tour group that just arrived today and this is one hotel we were disappointed to find ourselves staying at. Requested another room with outdoor seating but they were booked up. Most rooms have only French balconies and a few ground floor ones have patios.

Really sad to find the pool area so blah. Undersized pool. Small hot tub. Pigeons all over the place swimming and drinking in the pool! No colourful plants or flowers to cheer the place up. Deck furniture is plain white plastic. No one taking care of the area or guests. No open bar or snack area for guests to enjoy. It looks like something out of the 60’s! Depressing.

Bedrooms are fine except for the open clear wall between tub and bedroom. Thank goodness it had a pull down screen.

Seems ti be no real life in this hotel. Couldn’t find the bar or restaurant yet. Silent as a tomb is this place.

If we could leave we would but we are tied to our tour group here for one more day. We have stayed in a lot of hotels in our travels but never found one so disappointing I wanted to cry. Bleh…..

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights and the experience was great.
Nice, big bedroom with a huge king-size bed and open view bath tub and double shower.
The hall, the garden, the restaurant are spacious and very well designed, in a mix between modern and ancient decor.
Great breakfast as well and super kind staff.
The spa unfortunately was not completely accessible due to Covid but we enjoyed a couple of hours in the indoor pool.
The hotel is very close to the city center, anyway everything is reachable easily since the city of Evora is pretty small.
We will surely go back there!

The hotel really met all our needs. Located just inside the city walls it was easy to find and had its own free underground car park. All staff were very welcoming helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the air con very effective which was needed. Best rooms overlook the pool/garden. The pool area was great. The breakfasts were very tasty with a great choice. We also dined in the restaurant one night. The quality of the food was very good, a great chef and likewise the service. Mains at about 20€ did not feel overpriced. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a restored monastery along side the historic aqueduct with a very modern interior flair. Very interesting how it was restored with areas of exposed brick or mortar with sleek walls and accruements. Room are smaller but very nice. Great location to the historic and shopping areas.

This was a wonderful hotel! On arrival the front desk staff was very helpful and we had the quickest check-in of all our hotels in Portugal. The rooms are lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The views of the aqueduct provide a nice backdrop for drinks on the balcony. Hotel was walking distance to everything inside the old walled city. The breakfast has a nice variety. Contrary to other reviews our room was very clean, updated, and the beds were very comfortable. We wished we could have stayed much longer!

Why would any innkeeper allow it? The idea is to rent rooms. I am confident that the management would not agree to permit it.
