I booked a suite at Pousada dos Lóios, and no option was given to book one of the lovely special suites, but I was happy to stay at such an old, conveniently located place. I noted in the special request note field that I would love to upgrade, should the opportunity arise. When we arrived, we were told we were...

After having a bit of a hard time zeroing in with our GPS, we were amazed at how centrally located this historic pousada is. Great staff, very nice breakfast, smallish but well appointed rooms (they are in original nun's "cells!")

We stayed at 5 different Pousadas while we were in Portugal, this was by far one of the best. It was originally a convent (in Portugal if the building is inside the town walls it is called a convent whether monks or nuns resided there) and the rooms are the actual cells that the monks lived in it. The doorway...

The Pousada Convento de Evora is a Unesco Heritage city known as the museum city with plenty of history everywhere you look. Staying here was a unique experience. It's located at the foot of Roman columns that are colourfully lit at night giving the hotel a magical appearance. The inside is beautiful with a grand stone stairway leading the way...

Evora is a gift to see on every level. Being able to visit and land at the Pousada Convento dr Evora was an even bigger gift. An incredibly special place to stay and more importantly to experience. At the top of the hill with a view of Roman ruins right outside your front door - how special is that. Don't...

Well restored historical building right in the centre of Evora. Friendly staff. Comfortable sophisticated foyer and bar area. Complete continental breakfast - they will do you bacon with fresh eggs if you ask. The suites are magnificent: the normal rooms are small and have been decorated by someone with no taste or respect for the history of the building; more...

Great building, with a splendid location and a matching service. Gentle, attentive and able staff, with a special note to Mr. Isidro Galego. It's a fine experience to sleep in those former monk cells, turned into cosy rooms. The restaurant adds a lot. Great job!
