We were greeted as we arrived by several members of the "Calvario" team. First, they were able to accommodate a last minute change that requested an additional night for a three person room. When we arrived, they parked our car for us, gave us a book of recommendations on things to see, visit, restaurants in Evora. The staff always had...

What a welcome! Superb greeting by the young members of staff. Underground parking by a member of staff. We were allocated the 'apartment', which although much bigger than our needs for one night, was a lovely. Super breakfast choice and the added surprise of bottles of water on departure. It is amazing what a difference a smile and a friendly...

Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were great and very helpful; the room was lovely; the breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip (and considering the way the Portuguese hotels and inns put on breakfast that is saying a lot) -- lots of local produce and specialties, great selection, nice setting. One caution, it...

Go there, stay there and enjoy it. This is what hospitality means and many hotel and restaurant owners should come here to learn how to welcome guests and make them feel at home. Above that: beautiful hotel, good and spotless room (with amenities of a very high standard). So.... go there, stay there and enjoy it all. To the owners...

A nicer, more helpful staff would be hard to find. Everyone working in the hotel was wonderful. We arrived and I mentioned that my husband and I needed to get some emergency client work done in a hurry. Our room did not have a proper desk - my husband was willing to use a bureau as a work surface. In...

We followed previous reviews in booking our late-March trip - and we are very glad that we did. From the moment we were welcomed in from the rain by the newly-started Carla, everything worked perfectly. There is an intimacy and authenticity about the place, and our room was excellent. By far the most important contributor was the wonderfully warm and...

My husband and I did a 10 day car tour of Portugal, and without a doubt, Albergaria do Calvario was the very best hotel of our entire trip. I based my booking on Trip Advisor reviews, and once you have spent some time at this hotel, you realize that it is even better than you could have imagined. The breakfast...

Small boutique hotel in excellent location within walls of Evora. Limited parking. Beautiful small hotel. Rooms medium sized - simple but very nice and all you need. Staff and owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfasts are really excellent with hot dishes cooked to order. Lovely residents lounge. Tremendous value for money.

When you read other people's reviews you sometimes wonder whether they do not exaggerate a bit too much. I can assure everyone that in this case the reviews are true. A beautiful boutique hotel with top staff ( they really want to please), an excellent breakfast, very nice rooms with excellent beds and on walking distance to a charming little...

Deserves all the praise it has been getting in the different hotel booking & evaluation sites. It is extremely comfortable and charming, you are served (buffet style) a royal breakfast, the personnel are extremely attentive to all your needs, and it is within walking distance to the historic nucleus of the beautiful town of Évora.
