The Noble House has been recently renovated and is quite lovely. We had an upgraded room which was great. It's in the center of Evora. Everything is within walking distance. We loved it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.
Located in the very center of Evora (just down the cathedral) this pensão is a mix of history, romantic charm and some noir feeling. Room and corridors makes you perspire the atmosphere of hundred years ago. It's not for luxury lovers. Is for people seeking for emotional traveling. We definitively loved this place even if, especially the bathroom would need some renewal.
We had a good stay at the Pensao Policarpo. It is ideally located inside the Evora city walls, and a very short walk to all of the major sites. They have a rather small parking lot, with no additional charge for it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very basic, and the furniture (somewhat) charmingly mismatched and bit battered. Our room was decent sized, though the bathroom was tiny. Note that this is an older building (18th century I believe), so there are a lot of stairs and hallways, and luggage handling can be a challenge. The breakfast was included in our room rate, but was a bit below average in both the variety and quality of the food. The price was VERY reasonable, and that coupled with the very convenient location made it a good choice for us.
A unique place a very short walking distance to all the sights of the city. It is not the classiest place to stay but with free carparking and a basic breakfast it's great value for the budget conscious traveller. The bed is not the softest and the shower very small providing a challenge to wash. You can get a great view over the town from your room if you have a balcony. The staff are very friendly. Note that entry to the carpark is in the street parallel to that of the hotel entry.
The place is quaint and the people were lovely. However I think the first priority of a hotel should be a restful night. The mattress was so hard it was like a slab of wood. I tossed and turned and awoke with aches. Why would a hotel provide such poor sleeping accommodations?
