I don't know why this is only a three-star place, because it is wonderful. Immaculate and comfortable. We didn't have dessert at the restaurant, but we thought the food at the restaurant was very good. Our stay was great and the view from the city wall is not to be missed. The rooms are well decorated and have a cozy... More

Very good room, good parking, terrific airco throughout (were there when outside it was 42 C), pleasant staff, good breakfast. Restaurant no better or worse than can be expected in Portugal on average. Recommended but try the rooms with the view, even if it is towards Spain :-) Having a singsong in the cistern of the castle (entrance up the... More

This is the perfect hotel for seeing the jewel of Marvao. Our room, with views across the plains, and a small outside seating area was absolutely perfect. Our first introduction to pork and seafood cataplana - delicious. Good wine list. Dont go for the deserts - most places serve pre packaged frozen ice creams of one sort or another.

We left the Extremadura of Spain for an unplanned jaunt into Portugal, and left the main road to check out Marvao on a whim. It was one of the best unexpected experiences of our 3 week trip. Marvao is beautiful, views fantastic, and this hotel a relief after a few hard beds. The room was comfortable, heat worked great, everything... More

The hotel was very good and reasonably priced, clean, well situated and very helpful staff. The restaurant was poor and to be avoided. They served pre packaged appetizers, tough meat and frozen desserts. Breakfast was slightly better. I don't know what the alternatives are in Marvao but any place has to be better food.

The room was on the small side but very comfortable. We had a valley view room, which ment people walking the walls could look straight into the room but the view was worth it. Helpful staff Food in the restaurant was okay Good Location

It´s the perfect place to visit Marvão and the surrounding areas, like Castelo de Vide. Everything was cristal clean, and the Hotel had been remodeled very recently (2010?). The staff, was very helpfull and allways ther for you, even late night, just for a drink of tea. The room, superior one, had the most incredible view to "Portagem", the small place... More

Our room although small looked over the city wall with wonderful views.Don't forget to close the windows,as tourists can look right in. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is intimate and charming. We decided to eat in as it was cold and the food was underwhelming.Mostly what appeared to be tinned and packet food but then it's a long climb...
