Good quality hotel in a good location, 10 minutes walk to the strip and about 30 minutes to the Old Town, or 6 euro in a taxi. Good bars and restaurants nearby. Excellent and helpful reception, restaurant and bar staff.
Premium Rooms are very good with excellent views and a few extra touches, but they need more storage: there is a small 'one rail closet' and one large drawer; not enough for a premium room. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, but you can have a 5 euro voucher to spend for each day you forego cleaning services. Pool area gets busy very early because people reserve beds with towels before breakfast and then do not use them for hours.
Plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner but the 'hot' cooked selections were always just lukewarm and, in many cases, just cold.
There was entertainment on four nights during our stay. The performers were first class but the lounge area is massive and lacks atmosphere and with only about a dozen guests listening applause was pathetic and performers must have felt like walking off. Anyhow you can still hear the entire show from your room. Two guys with guitars sang for four hours round the pool on Saturday, they were fantastic. Nice touches: free WiFi and safe deposit box. Overall, a great hotel, shame about the (not) hot food.

Just returned from the Aqua Pedra Dos Bicos we were there 11 nights on bed and breakfast basis . We paid for a sea view and it was a lovely bright room with a huge bed , overlooking the sea and the pool . Small fridge which was great tea and coffee making facilities only little gripes about the room, were you had to step into the shower over a bath which was quite high so if you have mobility issues like myself it was a issue reception kindly sent a slip mat to our room . and there was no drawers for smaller items of clothing .. FREE SAFE .. easy to use ,and a huge telly 100 channels and only 5 were British not a problem . Hotel has this green policy about the room cleaning if you don t want your room cleaned every day the hotel will give you a 5 euro voucher to spend in the hotel for every day you don t want the room cleaned . Pool towels are supplied but you can only change every 7 days or a charge of 3 euros . Another gripe was breakfast there was always something to eat plenty of cheeses hams excellent choice of fruit and yogurts but the cooked breakfast was a big let down always cold or luke warm . The snack bar opened about 11 am food was always hot and a good choice of snacks Hotel is a very short walking distance to the many nice resturants and good bars especially the Hangover bar great entertainment and not badly priced either usually starting at 9 pm , The strip is a further 10 min stroll away or 4 to 5 euros by taxi . Old town was really nice 10 euros by taxi lots of narrow streets to wander with plenty of shops and bars

The Hotel was very clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful, check in was straightforward and efficient. They have a green rewards system where you get a 5 euro coupon if you don’t have housekeeping that day, which we used twice. The only problem with that is, when you do get housekeeping the next day, your tea/ coffee supplies were not replenished, but I asked the housekeeping team for some more and they were more than happy to supply it. The rooms were nice, ours had the side ocean view, but for a superior room I would have expected more clothing storage space. We were B&B, and there was a good breakfast selection, but what really let the breakfast down, was the “hot” selection was not hot, lukewarm at best, and sometimes cold, we were not late entry’s, going mid breakfast times. The pool looked inviting, and the pool area was clean and well set out, but for once in my life, I didn’t try it out, but I was informed it was cold. Overall, the hotel is a good place in a decent location from where you can set out exploring, the beach is within easy reach ( 15 mins walk) but it was windy when we went and most of the beach cafes/ bars were closed, but it was late November. The hotel is within 10 mins walk from the famous “strip” which again was a lot quieter than normal, but there are a decent selection of bars and restaurants close by. The old town is about 45 mins walk, but we caught the little train that does a full circuit of Albufiera, but not the marina, again, a seasonal issues, the marina area is worth the walk from the old town as there are some nice bars and restaurants near the waterfront. We both said we would visit the Algarve again, but maybe more in season.

This is our first time to Portugal and I think we picked the perfect place. This hotel is beautiful , spotless and well looked after , this is perfect for couples, it has a very laid back feel to it, no rushing around to get a sun lounger, and if you are unlucky not to get one you can always go down to the beach which is less than a 10 minute walk, the hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the strip, and a 10 minute drive by Uber to the old town. We paid a little extra to get a room with a side view of the sea, the balcony is very small but once you get used to it it’s fine, the only thing that the rooms lack is drawers, there is one wardrobe and one drawer, which isn’t enough for one person never mind 2, I love the fact that you have towels for the room as well as 2 towels to use for the pool, there’s a fridge full off drinks but they are not included, and there’s a safe, I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone,

We stayed at the Aqua Pedra dos Bicos Hotel at the beginning of June’ 23 on a B& B basis. We found the hotel modern, clean and in a good location The room was on the 3rd floor with a side view of the sea without any disturbing noise and was comfortable and cleaned when you required. Breakfast had a good choice selection and was fresh and regularly stocked up. The walk to the beach took approx. 10 mins down a wooden set of stairs of 100 steps. If you have mobility issues this maybe a bit challenging. There is a bar/restaurant that greets you upon arrival at the small beach bay, that serves a good selection of food and drink and has fantastic views of the sea, well worth a visit for a few cocktails. Further along the coast path about 5mins, you will find a handful of bars/restaurants all with great sea views and good food. You can get to the main strip if you desire up some steep roads from the beach, again about a 5 minute walk. There are a number of local supermarkets and variety of shops, bars and restaurants all within 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. The walk to the old town takes about 45 minutes, where you will find a good selection of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The evening becomes busy and lively with good fun entertainment. Taxi cost about €8 one way. There is a bus stop a few minutes’ walk outside the hotel, if you want to go to Vilamoura it cost €7.50 per person each way and takes about 30 minutes. The return bus, stops running late afternoon so plan your day if you want to return by it. Our only slight grumble was the price of the drinks in the hotel, they were a bit expensive compared to the local close by bars. If the hotel was a bit more competitive, we would have had more drinks before and after our nights out. All in all, a good quality hotel and definitely recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely modern hotel, which is in an excellent location on the outskirts of Albufeira. A short walk (5 mins) via the hotel grounds gets you to a relatively secluded beach area. Be mindful of the wooden steps! At the top of the road is a number of bars, shops and restaurants (2 min walk). The hotel itself is well presented, looks modern and well kept. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room looked out onto the roadway, not a particularly great view, but meant we didn't get the sun until late afternoon. The rooms are well appointed and have everything you need: a coffee machine, kettle, tv, air-conditioning etc. In comparison to the rest of the room, the bathroom seems outdated. However, it is functional and does what it says on the tin. Breakfast was a good experience, with plenty of choice hot and cold. The pool area is not massive, but this only adds to a feeling of privacy. There are plenty of sunbeds but a severe shortage of umbrellas. Another dozen would solve a lot of issues with towels on beds, etc. Those who do plant towels early and don't use the beds have their towels removed, great to see. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely return.

Firstly, after reading one of the recent reviews about Irish being unwelcome, I'd like to clarify that this is absolute rubbish. My girlfriend and I (both Irish) had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic hotel last week and it truly exceeded all of our expectations.
After traveling throughout the night we arrived to the hotel at 11am, we asked if it would be possible to get an early check-in and Ricardo on the front desk politely asked us to take a seat in the lobby. He then went out of his way to contact the cleaning staff to see what he could do and 5 minutes later he informed us that a room would be ready for us in 15 minutes! This was a life saver that allowed us to get freshened up before chilling on the beach to recharge for the day! These small details really mean a lot.
The hotel itself is modern and elegantly designed. Our room was pristinely clean with a balcony that offered a stunning view of the ocean. Also, there is a safe provided in your room to use at no extra charge, what's a nice touch.
The swimming pool and outdoor lounging area is quite small, but you have the convenience of being able to stroll down to the beach located through gate beside it.
The hotel is in a great location, "The Strip" is a 5 minute walk away if you've came to party, and the slightly more quiet "Old Town" (with a fine selection of restaurants) is roughly a 5 minute drive from the hotel too. Also, there's a supermarket just up the road to get any extras you need, I'd avoid the Spar as they are overly expensive.
The breakfasts in the hotel were beautiful and there was a wide selection to choose from, whether it's a fry-up, cereal, continental, savoury or sweet, it's there, and with a nice choice of drinks too.
In addition, although all of the staff were mannerly, friendly and helpful throughout our stay, I would to say a special thank you to Ricardo, who was polite and exceptionally helpful throughout our visit. His warm welcome immediately put us at ease upon arrival, and he continued to go above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Whether it was offering valuable local insights, assisting with reservations, or attending to any requests we had, promptly. It's the personal touch and outstanding service provided by staff members like Ricardo that sets hotels apart from the rest.
I would highly recommend, the Aqua Pedra Dos Biscos it to anyone visiting Albufeira.

Second year running we’ve stayed at this hotel and on both occasions it’s been excellent. Booked an upgraded room with a view of the pool and sea. Room was available even though we arrived at around 1.00pm which was great. Staff very friendly and informative at check in. Room was spotless and a good size. Large balcony gave great view out to sea and along the coast to Vilamoura. This hotel caters mostly for adults and at this time of the year, there was definitely a very relaxed, quieter atmosphere, which suited us perfectly. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choice both hot and cold. Staff regularly restocked trays of food making sure you didn’t miss out. Pool area was fairly busy but not do difficult to find a spot. Food via the pool bar was first class with large portions - after the first day, we would get a baguette, toasted sandwich etc between us - it was enough as the food all comes with fries. Drinks were plentiful and the cocktails were especially delicious. Again, staff at the pool bar were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an environmental friendly scheme ongoing. If you opt out of having your room cleaned and bedding changed they give you a 5 euro voucher for drink or food. A nice little incentive to help the environment, we chose to only have the room serviced every 2 days, which was easily sufficient. We did have 1 issue during our stay. Along with our friends, we had booked the Tomahawk Steak dinner on the Saturday evening. Unfortunately there had been a mixup in communication and only one steak dinner was available on the night. However, I must stress the the hotel handled this extremely well. Too long to go into details, suffice to say that although we were disappointed at the time, it in no way had a negative impact on our stay. In fact our trust in the hotel and staff ended up even higher, as they dealt with the mishap extremely well. In summery we had a great stay and are already looking at dates to return next summer.

Just home from another fabulous stay at this beautiful hotel. We were greeted by the lovely Carlos and informed that our suite ( 418) was ready for us. Carlos welcomed us back and told us about their environmental policy, each day you choose not to have your room serviced, you receive €5 to spend in bar/restaurant. As we were only there for 4 nights, we decided not to have our room serviced and enjoyed a delicious bottle of Portuguese wine instead! Our suite was beautiful with a huge balcony with incredible sea views. The beds are so comfortable and the room so quiet. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, and we could eat outside too. Plenty of sun lounger around the pool and as the hotel is mainly adults, very tranquil. We enjoyed massages in the hotels gorgeous treatment room, over looking the sea. Fabulous therapists. All the staff at this hotel are so lovely and all say good morning to you etc. We are already planning our return. We book direct with the hotel, there is a small discount for returning customers. If you are planning a trip to gorgeous Albuferia , book this hotel, you will not be disappointed!

Just came back from a four day break here, for my friends birthday, and I can't wait to return! The hotel was beautiful, tasteful and very stylish. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, beds were absolutely huge and so, so, so comfortable and the view (we had upgraded to a premium room) was totally breathtaking. The breakfast was fresh and tasty (with added champagne) every morning. The location was prefect, just up from the beach bars which served delicious food, and a seven minute walk from the main strip. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the were very nice. All I can say is that I will, definitely, be returning and soon!

We had a pianist play at night and a singer one night but no major entertainment. There is plenty nearby though on foot or further with a few euro in an uber, and the beach bar is lovely in the evening.
There are more places to choose from in the Albufeira area.
