We visited 3HB Golden Beach mid-October this year as a family of four, my partner and I along with our two daughters. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived to the day we left, which we didn't want to do!
The whole place is spotlessly clean, a credit to all of the very hard working staff. The pool area was washed down and scrubbed every single morning we were there, ready for the coming day. The pool is larger than it appears in the photos and there were plenty of sunbeds available at most times of the day. The pool bar serves a nice lunch at very reasonable prices, we ate there most days and the two members of staff who work there ensure that everyone is very well looked after.
We stayed in apartment 19 which was the perfect size for a family of four. The views are amazing, really nice and it is what we miss the most. The apartments are extremely clean, we did not even require the cleaning service available each day, it was spotless. The kitchen is very well equipped, even a coffee pod machine, everything you could need and more. No noise from the street, it was very peaceful and we slept well every night of the holiday.
We would highly recommend 3HB Golden Beach and we hope to visit again one day in the future.

3HB Golden Beach is the most spotlessly clean accommodation I have ever stayed in, both the accommodation itself and the entire complex. The apartments are fabulous, simple but modern and beautifully furnished. The beds are SOO comfy and there is Aircon in the living room area. The kitchen is a decent size and fully equipped with everything you could need for a self catering holiday. No oven but two hob rings and a microwave. We were in apartment 18 which had a phenomenal sea and partial pool view although we had not paid extra for it. The balcony was very spacious with a table and chairs and a drying rack on the wall. Every room has a free safe. Beach/pool towels are supplied daily and the apartments are cleaned and beds changed daily. There is a gym and 'games room' with just a pool table and one games machine but we didn't bother with that. The pool isn't huge but big enough with plenty of sunbeds and there is a jacuzzi and shallow kids pool. I managed a good swim every morning while it was still quiet. My son had a blast and was in there most of the day playing with friends he made. The poolside bar/cafe is great with a big drinks menu including non alcoholic cocktails which my 14 year old daughter loved as well as generously boozy cocktails including frozen ones for the grown ups, decent food and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. We only experienced minimal noise a couple of times in the early hours (around 6am) with revellers from the strip but it wasn't particularly disturbing and I found it rather endearing those youngsters enjoying their 'Portugese' experience. Although the strip is just up the road, you are a world away from it if you choose not to go. The location is superb, just a minutes walk to the beautiful local beach praia da oura. We swam safely in the sea but the waves can be quite big at times. There are loads of excellent restaurants and bars in the same area, we had some exceptional food. There is a small Portuguese shopping centre just a few metres down the road with a well stocked supermarket and a fabulous local bakery for fresh daily produce. The pastels de natas were out of this world! There is another supermarket just up the hill which is open until very late. Download the Bolt app for cheap and reliable transport to the fantastic old town or attractions such as the water parks. We loved Zoomarine. Please consider doing the caves and dolphin experience from the watersports shack on the local beach. It was the highlight of our holiday, the caves were extraordinary and we got to see loads of dolphins in their natural habitat. We found the Portuguese people to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. I cannot fault 3HB Golden Beach, and it deserves way more than a three star rating. Five stars from us! Thank you 3HB Golden Beach for the most exceptional holiday experience.

The pool area, while small with limited sunbeds, was never an issue. We always found space to relax, and the poolside bar was a highlight, offering a great selection of drinks and food at very reasonable prices. Convenience is key at 3HB Golden Palace, with a supermarket and a few charming cafés just a minute's walk away. It’s also just a few minutes' walk up Cardiac Hill to the main strip, which is lively and can be noisy, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room, despite being close to the road, was quiet and peaceful at night.
The apartment itself was excellent—spotlessly clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only areas for improvement would be the addition of more storage for clothing and an upgrade to the beds in the bedroom. The metal-framed beds with shallow mattresses were less comfortable than the sofa beds in the living area, which were surprisingly more restful.
One of the more unique and memorable features of our stay at 3HB Golden Palace was the resident seagull, which keeps a vigilant eye over the property. This formidable bird, which could easily be mistaken for a pterodactyl due to its impressive size and presence, takes no nonsense and adds a bit of local charm to the experience.
Often seen swooping down and gliding just above the pool’s surface, this seagull is a true character, making its rounds as if it were the unofficial guardian of the hotel. While it certainly commanded attention, it added a bit of fun to our poolside lounging, and watching it in action became part of the daily routine.
3HB Golden Palace is a fantastic place to stay, and I would return in a heartbeat if I ever find myself back in Albufeira. The combination of friendly service, excellent facilities, and a prime location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting this vibrant part of Portugal.

Lived up to reviews! Spotless, conveniently located / strip far enough away and not as bad as I thought it would be! We were a family of 4 / children 12 & 16 Pool bigger too - bonus ! Apartment 51 was clean and more than comfortable for families with older children, we asked for a quiet room and got an apartment in great location right near the pool for daytime but away from road for nighttime. Beach beautiful and 5 minutes away. So many restaurants to choose from we didn’t have a bad meal anywhere, we just googled reviews ahead and tried them for ourselves. We did the water park, jeep safari and the caves all throughly recommended. We also had a car / we didn’t really need it as Uber so cheap and reliable The hotel snack bar was great , limited on healthy options but what we did have was delicious and all the staff so friendly and accommodating- the girls on reception were lovely nothing was too much trouble, helping with excursions and restaurants The old town is a must - the atmosphere was brilliant Don’t take too many ( we did) pool towels they are included, hair dryer was good in room, two balconies was a plus. We had a fab time, families with younger children may find complex cosy and the sun-loungers are intimate, our children are older so we didn’t need that space. Thankfully noise wasn’t an issue /you can hear the party stragglers from the hotel ( which looks awful ) on the hill but it wasn’t a problem for us. It’s Albufeira so you can’t expect it not to be lively - lots of stag / hen parties in this area, real mix of clientele around the resort in general, not younger families. Definitely recommend if you have older kids Great base for us.

We are staying here now, our first time at this resort and what a gem. Again depends what you like and want from an apartment and resort but thus is our take on it! Apartments are spacious, we are a family of 4 staying in a 1 bed, bedroom has 2 singles pushed together, a dressing table area and a little balcony. Big wardrobe in the hallway. Standard bathroom, shower over bath, roilet, sink & bidet. Kitchen with hatch/arch to the lounge area, looks like has everything you need [we don't cook or eat really in the apartment] microwave, fridge [with little freezer compartment], hob, 4 of everything, saucepans, they provide washing up liquid and a sponge. Lounge has two mattresses [as sofas] these are wide/long enough for adults to sleep, tv on the wall, table with 4 chairs and a large balcony with a 4 slat airer on the wall and an outside table and 4 chairs. Airton in the lounge and bedroom, both controlled separately and work 👍 Lots of privacy on our balcony, we are in apartment 20, up 5 steps from the pool and bar, only thing was when the bar was open and they were cooking the smell would come out the chimney [right by our balcony] only negative for us! Rooms are cleaned daily which is great and unexpected in a self catering resort to be honest, all the staff are friendly and willing to help. Pool bar is open 10am till 7pm, they serve food a variety of food too [pizzas, burgers, chips, ice-cream, toasties, baguettes, chicken] something for everyone, they play music during the day, the Saturday we arrived they had live music which was lovely. There is a little playground [for younger children] just round from the pool, right at the too of the steps there is a gym which has a weight machine, a bike, a cross trainer, treadmil and dumbells just outside this room is a pool table. Resort is 2 mins downhill to the beach which is lovely, waves are very strong but we have had some great days down there already, there are some restaurants down there and a supermarket for supplies. Up the hill is another supermarket and the start of the strip. 30 minute walk to old town [which we love ] but loads of tuk tuks, taxis, buses and a road train if wanted. Golden beach is a lovely peaceful self catering resort would definitely return.

Came for a short 4 night trip and couldn't have been better! We were greeted by Gina and the wonderful staff on the first day after arriving who already had our room ready (We arrived around 2.30pm and had booked the deluxe appartment). We were also gifted a little beach bag with biscuits, crackerjack had milk, water, tea coffee and sugar in the apartment which is a lovely touch! We were also given a beach towel each and was told take them to the beach or pool etc and they will exchange them for you which was amazing! Full credit to all the staff who are so friendly and make you feel that little bit extra special, especially towards my son who is disabled! They always greeted him by name and made comments about all his football tops which he loved!! (Will remember to get more Ronaldo tops next time!) Now to the apartment. It is so spacious with a very well equipped kitchen including microwave/grill, 2 hobs, kettle and toaster, nothing more you would need for! So clean and tidy every day! Big balcony with a view to the ocean and a table and chairs that we ate breakfast/luch every day. There is a lovely little pool that goes from 1.1m to 1.4 m as well as a kiddy pool at 30cm and a whirlpool. There is also a little pool bar with beers around €3.5 but happy hour, beers and wines are €3 and they also do a cocktail of the day. The beach is a short few minutes walk down the road and the bars and restaurants are fairly well priced too! Will definitely visit again!

Just back from a week in 3HB Golden Beach & I don't usually leave reviews but I feel our stay here deserved a review..... We had a fabulous week in 3HB Golden Beach, from start to finish all the staff were so kind, helpful & considerate! On arrival we were upgraded to a seaview apartment, which was beautiful, absolutely spotless, cleaned daily and the kitchen was ideal. As we were travelling with a one year old the kitchen was perfectly equipped for us, a 2 ring electric hob, microwave, lots of cookwear, fridge, box freezer and loads of hot water. The apartment was very spacious and our little boy had loads of room for moving around. The apartment had a beautiful walled balcony with garden furniture & the whole building is very cleverly designed as you are not overlooked by neighbouring apartments nor can you easily see into other apartments! Our bedroom was very spacious with two single beds joined together, to make a double, the beds & bedding were all very comfortable & clean. The bathroom was spotless with a very large powerful shower! There were 2 televisions, one in living room & one in bedroom ( I can't comment on channels etc as we did not watch the television!) As the weather was not very warm we didn't use the pool but it looked lovely, very clean & lots of loungers. There's a small playground for very young children on the property, it has 3 small slides, a seesaw & a little climbing frame and tunnel! It was a real plus having access to this just as an extra for entertaining young children. The complex is located in the new town, literally a 2 minute walk from the beach and from restaurants on the sea-front. The "strip" is at the top of the hill, 3-4minutes walk, but we heard no noise at all from out apartment at anytime of the day/night. Finally, I would highly recommend 3HB Golden Beach & just want to say thanks to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable.... Johnny, Ann & Stephen (Ireland)

An amazing place to stay. We opted for the deluxe sea view and it was so perfect for us with a large balcony and wonderful view. The apartments are well kitted out with all that you need for a self catering holiday. Bathroom has hand wash, shampoo etc, kitchen has various utensils, pots etc as well as washing up liquid. Rooms are really clean with housekeeping being done daily. A bonus is that the safe, pool towels and air conditioning all included the price.
It does sit on a hill, down from the main road (and the Strip,) but it is still a peaceful place to be. There are lots restaurants close by on the beach area, as well as small shops and a supermarket. However, it’s only a 5 min walk (albeit uphill) to the Intermarchė supermarket.
The staff, both in reception and housekeeping, are all really friendly and helpful. On our arrival Thelma helped us with hiking information as well as providing maps of local restaurants to visit both in Oura and Albufeira.
It is a short walk into Albufeira itself, about 2-3km, along the cliff paths to the end of the main beach area or along the road. However, if walking / hiking isn’t your thing there are loads of Tuk tuks available next to the hotel.
I would certainly recommend checking the paths and walks out on Google maps / view. It is simply a stunning place to visit.
We will definitely be back as it’s a great base for exploring the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at the 3HB Golden Beach hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect, being only minutes walk to the beach as well as a few bars and restaurants, but far enough away from the ‘Strip’ to be bothered by any noise or late night activity.
The reception staff were especially friendly and efficient, from the moment we arrived to the day we left, they were extremely helpful.
Our room had a sea view (which is worth the extra cost) and was clean and well equipped. The local supermarket was only 5-10 minutes walk, however there is a small convenience store about 2 minutes walk from the hotel, for those last minute items.
The pool area at the hotel is well stocked with sun beds and the pool bar serves snacks, beers and ice cream at reasonable prices.
We cannot say enough about this hotel, the only problem we encountered was leaving… 😊

Having read the reviews of this hotel before arriving, we were expecting good things and it did not disappoint. Upon checking in, they give you a beach bag with some milk, biscuits etc to use and also some beach towels which was a nice touch. Reception staff all extremely helpful and always smiling. We had a massive apartment with a great sea view which we were told was an upgrade, this apartment would easily sleep 4/5 people. Spotless rooms and pool area with plenty of sun loungers always available throughout the day. Pool bar with reasonably priced drinks and snacks was handy! The location is excellent being right below the strip in the new town with plenty of bars and restaurants. The old town is also a short trip by Uber, which were usually very affordable coming in at around €5. All in all, a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Would definetly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to book again when returning to Albufeira!

There are a few restaurants down on the beach, but mainly up the hill there are lots in one area. Bar prices are much the same as outside the complex, happy hour is 50 cents off beer n wine and cocktail of the day.
Partner said hairdryer was adequate for an apartment.
There are more places to choose from in the Albufeira area.
