Positives - Rooms were very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. For a twin room, they were spacious and had a good balcony, we were overlooking the small pool and had a great view of the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the grounds were always clean. Drinks on the AI were good, strong spirits and no limit on getting more than 1 at a time if you choose. Fantastic location, just 10 mins walk to the main strip, couple of shops even closer and there are always tuktuks around to take you to old town for €15. It’s right on the beach, there is a private gate with a path down to it which is about a 5 min walk.
Negatives - The food was not great, we ended up eating out 2 out of our 3 nights, however if I was there for a full week I would have eaten in more as it was edible, just quite bland. Between the restaurant closing at 10am and the pool bar opening at 11, the only drinks available are hot drinks or water so no alcohol or soft drinks which wasn’t great, but again not a massive issue. The hotel is dated and in need of a good refurb which it seems like they are doing slowly. However, it did have everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. I would stay again, probably more on a B&B basis as there are so many amazing places to eat out locally.
The food was good and not overly repetitive.
The pool is awesome and so is the beach which is just downstairs of the resort.
The drinks in the all inclusive menu were ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, I mean awful, the only acceptable drink was beer (portuguese Sagres).
There weren't enough staff members in the bar so the lines were huge.
For 2020 this resort has no excuse for not providing Wi-Fi for the costumers in the entire space. The Wi-Fi only worked sometimes in the lobby area and the signal was bad.
Every time we wanted to grab something to eat (in the buffet or in the snack self service) we had to put on one pair of plastic gloves and in the snack area everything was made of plastic (cups, plates, knives, forks). I know we are in a pandemic but there are alternatives (more staff members to serve the costumers).
The reclining chairs were always occupied with towels.
We didn't get the "protection kit" and no one ever checked our body temperature.
We wasn’t happy with the rudeness of most of the staff members at the hotel, there were only a small amount of them who was polite and helpful. We were treated like absolute rubbish a few days after we arrived as there was a wedding of one of the other guests, the staff focused on them and moved our eating area down into the ‘dancing bar’ giving us a small option to choose from and cold food. They moved our entertainment up into the reception area, ‘lobby bar’ where we had to pay for our drinks even though we was all inclusive. The entertainment staff walked around the pool and asked us to move to a different hotel for the day to do activities there just so the hotel guests could have the hotel to themselves! Whilst the wedding was on they put very little effort into our food, I even got a chicken steak which was still pink inside. This put me and my partner off of eating there and we ate out for the rest of the holiday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My partner went to the bar with and adults wrist band on as he’s an adult, he asked for a alcoholic drink for himself and the woman on the bar told him he couldn’t have anymore as he’d already had a few due to him only been 18. So what did we pay all inclusive for?? The gaming tent was unclean and there were drinks, baby wipes and other rubbish left there and was still there 3 days later. And throughout the day when you was eating and drinking around the pool no cleaners came around to clean up plates and cups. And also if you require ramp access or don’t want to walk up and down a lot of stairs to get to every bar and restaurant, then I would avoid this hotel…
The location was amazing and the views over the sea from the hotel and the pool was beautiful! Our room even had a slight pool and sea view. You constantly has access to bottles of water or a number of water machines where you could refill your bottles up! The hotel also offered a free shuttle bus into the old town which we never used but it is a very good option as the old town is amazing. There were also a large amount of sun beds so you never went without one and the pool was a good size and was kept clean. Majority of the time, the entertainment was enjoyable but others not so enjoyable but we can’t complain about that.
Pool cleaning chemicals left unsupervised next to the childrens pool.
One morning the coffee machine burst its water supply, resulting with water spilling over the electric supply. At no point were guests asked to move away from risk of electricution.
If you like beef mince then you are in for a treat, as that will feature in most meals such as burgers, bolognese etc (chef gets a good deal at the butchers?)
If you cannot sleep and decide to go and sit in the reception foyer at night (so as not to disturb who your staying with), you run the risk of being accused of snooping by the night manager.
We have stayed here before and it looks like instead of refurbishing the place, they have reduced the rates and standards have dropped.
We discovered a fire exit to be bolted shut.
This hotel is in a fantastic location and deserves new management and a refurb.
Hotel area inside and out was spotless. Staff cleaning the area throughout the day. We stayed at the corner room with a lovely sea view and a double balcony (D323) a spacious room, perfect for a family. Our room had a little kitchen which had a fridge and a microwave. Our room I must say was cleaned EVERY DAY, we didn’t have to put a tag on the door to ask for the room to be cleaned. Towels and bedding was changed everyday.
Food was lovely! We had booked all inclusive and a choice of food every day for lunch and dinner was different. I’m a quite picky eater, but on this occasion I must say I was spoiled for choice.
As soon as you sit down for a meal the waiting staff approach to ask if you’d like anything to drink.
Disposable gloves to be worn when self serving food. Mask wearing is mandatory inside and out.
Everyone seemed to follow the one way system and also mask wearing.
From the safety point of view the hotel has done an amazing job.
We are not big drinkers, but the wine, beer, sangria and the cocktails were lovely.
Entertainment during the day and in evenings was fab! Mini disco for the little ones every evening.
There’s a shop within the hotel where you can buy souvenirs, alcohol, snacks, ice cream and all sorts of other stuff.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. We’d definitely stay at this hotel again. I can’t fault it
Ps. Hotel has an access to the beach which is beautiful.
The majority of the hotel staff were very helpful and did their best at all times.
The hotel is a bit 'run down' in places and some of the rooms have very poor lighting with no ceiling lights. However, overall it is a decent, comfortable hotel.
Good wifi throughout the hotel, including in bedroom.
No tea making facilities in the room but a kettle will be provided - if there is one available. There is always drinking water available from a machine no no need to buy/use plastic bottles. Take a bottle to refill.
FYI... The room key is small - take something (a lanyard) to attach it to. Deposit (returnable) is EURO 10 so you don't want to lose the key!
Safe is (non refundable) EURO 15 per week.
I don't think that pool towels are provided so take your own towel.
The branded drinks on show are not for those on all inclusive. From what I understand, there seems to be only one type of cocktail per night for those on AI, and if you want something different, that has to be paid for.
Good vegetarian food but watch out for 'hidden' meat/fish ingredients where you would not expect to find them - in salads/tomato sauces!
There is a daily bus to the nearby town but it is a very easy, quick walk along the beach.
The hotel is on various levels with a number of steps and perhaps not ideal for those with mobility issues.
At 6 months pregnant I found my stay here very comfortable as did my husband, there are a lot of steps throughout the hotel but I managed them fine and the walk to the beach was also fine for me but may be a struggle for anyone with mobility issues.
The hotel is in a great location, about a 10min walk from the New Town strip and an approx 40 min walk on the beach to the Old Town but they also offer a shuttle bus during the day ( I managed this walk with ease twice throughout our stay).
We went all inclusive and couldn't fault the food at all, they had such a variety and it was all fresh and tasty. There are set times for your breakfast which wasn't an issue for us but may be too early for anyone going on a party holiday (there are two breakfast times and ours was the earlier slot, from 7am-9am). Also couldn't fault the staff. The restaurant is lovely, the dancing bar was very spacious and had a great vibe about it in the evenings and the bar by the pool also offered snacks throughout the day in case you missed breakfast.
Yes, some parts of the hotel is very dated but it is clear they have already upgraded certain parts and must be updating it a bit at a time. We stayed in a superior room and it was modern and very clean. The rooms where cleaned every day with fresh towels left every day too which was brilliant. Beds were very comfortable, shower lovely.
The swimming pool was absolutely freezing, to the point that I couldnt fully submerge in the water. I thought this was maybe due to the weather but even on our hottest day the pool was freezing and other guests said the same, but it didnt effect our trip.
Overall we would stay here again, it was great value for money and suited our relaxing 'babymoon' holiday perfectly.
Food was quite nice and plentiful, if you have a special diet such as Vegan they will cater for you if you ask.Usually excellent service by waitress.
The evening entertainment was mostly good.
The room had all the amenities if you are all inclusive make sure you get your wrist band straight away, otherwise you won't get a drink.
The views were beautiful! Hotel is near the sea you have to go down quite a bit to reach it. The hotel is also on different levels so there is a lot of walking up and down.
The only thing that I didn't like was the indoor pool was small, and you have to go outsider a little to get to your room, which can be a bit cold in the winter with no changing rooms or w.c.
Meet some really nice people there and the weather was good except for a very cool breeze at times.
There is not much of a gym equipment not good.
