Jeans are fine, I wore jeans every evening, no problems. As you come to the end of the side roads, there is a supermarket across the road to the left called Intermarche, I bought some snacks and bottled water at a reasonable price. Next door, there is a bar and the Italian restaurant (O Antonio) which has a good rating. At the end of the side road to the right, there is a row of bars and restaurants which serve Chinese, Indian and European food as well as seafood and tapas. Hugo's Tapas Bar has a good rating. Most of the bars serve either Super Bock or Sagres as their local option, I drank Sagres inside and outside the hotel, which is a good pint. Other beers like San Miguel and Heineken are available, it's worth looking around to see what they serve. I don't drink cocktails myself, but there is a lot of kudos for the cocktails in the hotel. You could try the Oasis Cocktail Bar in Olhos D'Agua, which is a short taxi ride away, it's a nice little place with karaoke. As for the beer, Sagres is €3.00 and Heineken is €3.60. The cocktails are reasonable priced, you can even win one in the daily evening quiz!
I hope you have a great time at Falesia, I liked it so much, I re-booked it for next August.

To get afternoon or evening sun you need a room over the front of the hotel, not overlooking the pool. Your best bet is to contact the hotel directly after you've booked and state your preference. They won't be able to guarantee it but will do all they can to accommodate your wishes. These are also the quieter rooms but you also want to be high up and away from the central atrium. The Junior Suites tend to meet this.
The hotel has recently refurbished all of it's rooms. There is no difference (apart from the obvious!) between a double and twin room as far as I am aware.
The food is excellent - huge choice and as much as you want. Lots of fresh fish / meat being cooked in front of you. Make sure you allow lots of expansion room in your clothes!! Gentlemen HAVE to wear long trousers in the evening - no excuses.
There are lots of activities around the pool, but there is no pressure to join in any of them. There is some music played around the pool too but it didn't stop us just chilling out and reading. The aerobics in the pool at about 11am lasts about half an hour and the music is louder for that but you can still read comfortably. There is also enormous amounts of room in the gardens away from the pool where it is completely quiet. There are parasols around some of the sunbeds and some loungers in the shade too and you can always move the sunbeds to suit. Inevitably there are some selfish people who place their towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn and then disappear, despite notices to ask people not to.
The walk to the beach takes about 15 minutes, via the hotel next door. There is also a free shuttle bus from the Falesia hotel.
I have no idea whether the building work will be completed but it did not take place in the high season whilst we were there in September 2017 and is nowhere near the pool area. We have booked to go back next September.
It is a fabulous hotel - enjoy!

"probably east of reception area is the quietest, the floor above bar can be louder on times"
