We stumbled onto Agar Seco whilst walking the beautiful boardwalk in Carvoeiro, where we had been referred to a doctor for an ear infection. Serendipity! Cgarmed by the setting, the view, and the peacefulness of the place, we immediately went to check on availability. Only one apartment was available the following week. We immediately changed our plans and have now spent 2 perfect weeks in this s pool special little pocket of the Algarve. Each apartment is unique. The two we have stayed in are both special in different ways. Nothing is more special than sitting on one of their balconies and watching the sun go down, the moon come up and the stars poo out. It is a little village in itself, so there are the inherent noises from neighbour's, housekeeper's chattering, and gardeners keeping the flowers blooming. Wish we had discovered it sooner, as it would have been our "go to" place for winter. Summers will be hot and more crowded. Staff are all charming, helpful, and have that special Pirtugese humour and kindness that the Spanish lack. Great restaurants a block away. Caves, hiking, water sports all available. On site bistro and swimming pools. Perfect.…
Algar Seco Parque has been our winter destination for 7 years in a row. The staff from the office to housekeeping to the gardners are so friendly and accommodating. Our apartment is comfortable, very clean and when you look out at the ocean from your balcony it is a truly stunning view. The Bistro has fabulous food and the staff are also very friendly. Great walk into town along the boardwalk. We have already booked for year 8!
We paid a visit to this bistro. Nice interior and friendly service. Terrace at the border of the swimming pool. The bistro forms part a larger holiday park consisting of various two-storeyed buildings. It all looks very attractive.
The location is amazing and you can spend hours gazing out on unspoilt views of the sea and coast line. Also it is a easy walk into the town via the board walk. Good staff who try hard but some are slightly officious at times. Now for the cons The accommodation is very basic and ours smelt musty - like sleeping in an ancient church Ants and mosquitoes are a real problem in the accommodation The furniture and decor is very old There is very little for young children to do, the pools are deep and there is no Life guard All in all the place is ok but far from its 5 star review rating
Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. Very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The resort is very well laid out with beautiful buildings and gardens. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The most important thing to me was the peace and quiet and of course the stunning views over the sea. Will hopefully visit again next year.
"Having stayed at the Algar Seco twice both types of accommodation were great. All have sea views and are well equipped."Read full review
