Rocha Brava Village Resort is celebrated for its beautifully maintained gardens and an array of swimming pools, with guests often commending the resort's cleanliness and the regular upkeep of its facilities. Despite some criticisms regarding the dated style of certain apartments and occasional maintenance issues, many visitors find the rooms to be spacious and comfortable.
Guests have lauded the friendly and helpful service, though others have noted instances of unresponsiveness. The resort's location scores points for being family-friendly and close to scenic hikes, yet some travelers caution that the convenience of on-site amenities comes at a higher cost.

We loved our stay here and would return. We arrived in the middle of the night but still got a lovely informative welcome and golf buggies took us and our luggage to our accommodation 😁 The resort is huge so find your bearings and keep the map you are given on your first day! The site is extremely well kept, watch out for sprinklers! We had 2 apartments which were perfect for what we needed but accommodation can be hit and miss as units are privately owned. Both apartments were well equipped with towels, loo roll, dishwasher chemicals and everything you need in a kitchen. The on site Supermarket is expensive, the Spar on the other side of the site is cheaper, we would hire a car if we came again so we could visit a larger Supermarket as surrounding restaurants are pricey. There is a small beach best accessed off of the main road rather than through the site. A bus runs into Carvoeiro at 10am (free) and at 10:20, it returns again at 14:00 but nothing inbetween. Carvoeiro is lovely and you can walk to it in around 40 mins. (Its up hill on the way back). The cave boat trip is a must but book in advance and from Carvoeiro rather than the resort as it's around half the price from the town! Pools on site are great all 4 of them! Lovely break wish we could of stayed longer!

Rocha Brava is a beautiful resort for people looking for a relaxed holiday in a green environment by the ocean. If you're looking for a quiet place, then the ocean view apartments (in the south west quadrant) or ocean view villa's (south east quadrant) are the best ones. Other apartments can be closer to roads or the main pool, and especially the latter gets quite busy. The grounds are well maintained with lots of mature trees and flowering plants. There are 4 pools, 2 of them heated and one covered. The main pool especially attracts families with children, so can be quite busy. The smaller pools are meant to provide more quiet alternatives (signs warning against diving, jumping, prohibiting inflatables) but unfortunately this was largely ignored. The resort attracts mostly travellers from the UK and Germany, as well as a few from the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries. Mostly families, many kids. The restaurant O Farol is nice, with good food, but overpriced. A more affordable and very nice option is Jardim do Farol left of the resort's entrance. Given the few dining options in the immediate vicinity, booking your table in advance (either at O Farol or elsewhere) is a must. The little supermarket on site was surprisingly well stocked and is sufficient for your basic self-catering needs. Not cheap, but still more affordable than the small Spar supermarket which is also nearby. I stayed in a one-bed ocean view apartment which had a beautiful location: nice and quiet, trees all around, and of course a great ocean view. The decor was very dated and in desperate need of an update. No fewer than 3 light fixtures were broken, and the dated (once a creamy white) sofa was just too filthy to sit on. Even though the cleaners probably did their best, at some point you just can't get things clean anymore and they need to be replaced. Having said that, the inside of the apartment was very complete, with a well equipped kitchen, and even a dishwasher and a laundry machine. Linnen was clean and of good quality, and the beds (short though they were) slept perfectly well. In terms of location, Rocha Brava is just a little too far removed from the village of Carvoeiro to go there on foot, unless you don't mind a 45 minutes walk (with some steep hills) in the heat. There is a free shuttle bus from the resort, which is nice, but it only runs 3 times a day so you need to adjust your visit to that schedule. The beach is within better walking distance (< 10 min.) and beautiful. Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay and may visit Rocha Brava again in the future.

This resort is really beautiful and very relaxed. We are a family of 4, with an 8 year old and a 10 year old, and the location and style of the resort suited us. The pools and the surrounding areas are fantastic, with a selection of really fun pools and plenty of sunbeds. There is a lot to do, such as mini golf, table tennis, or a walk to the pretty cliffs and local beach. It didn't feel overly busy or crowded, which was lovely, and we found the breakfast really good quality. The gardens and grounds are immaculate. As others have said, the resort feels a bit isolated, but we actually like this because it was so tranquil. There are still a couple of shops and places to eat, and the hotel runs a free mini bus to Carvoeiro, which we used twice. The only issues we found were that our apartment was not cleaned as much or as thoroughly as we'd expect for a 4 start place. We were given clean towels/loo roll regularly, but the apartment was only properly cleaned once in a week-long stay. Also, mentioned by others, some apartments are modern and some are a bit dated. Ours was very dated! A couple of lights didn't work and the shower became blocked. We reported the shower to reception but, two days later, nobody had come to fix it. Having said this, the apartments was really, really spacious for a family of 4, and for us, having the space was more important than it all being perfectly up together.

I'll start with the fact that we dropped on a lovely modern 2 bed apartment with a roof top terrace , as has been discussed before the rooms are privately owned and you could drop on one that's maybe not as good as the one we had. The grounds were kept in immaculate condition and the four pools were great , cold though, other than the very small indoor heated one. Staff were great and always smiling . I know a few people have also commented on the prices on site so here's a summary The coffee shop was quite expensive but if you go in for a nightcap (5 euro for an Estrella , saying that the average we paid out and about was probably over 4 euros) and they have a live singer on I'm sure you can live with that . The Pool Bar was expensive so a tip is to pop into "The View" right next door if you fancy a drink while watching the tennis from the roof terrace! Tennis Courts looked in great condition if anyone fancies a knock up. The Supermarket I found not to be overly expensive , a little dearer than the Spar just up the road but its there for convenience at the end of the day. We didn't eat in the on site restaurant and there were no prices on show so can't comment.
I'd take an hour or two just to have a look around the grounds when you arrive to get your bearings , its a lovely stroll round but it can be a bit like a rabbit warren ..... don't worry you won't get lost and die of exposure though ! We didn't use the courtesy bus into town at all but it runs about 3 times a day , book it at reception. It was probably the best "resort" and room we've ever had on holiday , it really was that good ! I wouldn't hesitate in booking again when we go back to Portugal . If you picked up this place and put it close to Carvoeiro you would be paying a hell of a lot more to stay there , that I can tell you. Its a good 35 minute walk at a decent pace to get to Carvoeiro main beach and the closest beach is about 15/20 mins , the resorts that big it depends where you're room is on the complex really. Anyway , that just about sums it all up , give it a try and hope you get room 463B , you could always ask for it (wink wink)

The cottages are located in a very nice and well-kept garden area, which has three pool areas and direct access to the hiking trail on the cliffs. Our apartment was clean, partly renovated and well equipped. Every two days there was a cleaning service, which was very pleasant. The small supermarket offered a sufficient offer at somewhat upscale prices. A nice snack bar and a good restaurant complete the offer on site. All staff were very friendly and attentive. We can definitely recommend the Resort.

We are visiting as a family of 4 including 2 very active boys aged 5 and 9 and are staying for 10 days half board in a 2 bedroomed apartment. The apartment is very spacious with a large terrace and well equipped kitchen with large fridge and a freezer. It is cleaned every 2 days and surrounded by well kept gardens. The facilities in the resort are in good order and keeping our children occupied. The swimming pools are clean and well maintained.
Breakfast and dinner are plentiful and of a high standard. We are very glad to have half board. We have cleared our plates for every meal. The bread, pastries and desserts are particularly delicious and very fresh. There are several hicooked options for breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms with fresh herbs and many cold options including lots of good quality fruit. Dinner includes excellent sauces, meat and fish options and a kids menu including large ice-creams.
Staff are pleasant and helpful. There is a very flexible kids club available on weekdays run by Macy who relates very well to kids, has a large room with lots of toys and plenty of ideas to entertain kids. Our children have been very positive about spending time there.
It is quiet and peaceful on site but near to some very beautiful beaches and £4.50 for an Uber ride into the nearest town which also has a very clean beach suitable for families and good facilities. We are all very positive about our stay and want to come back.

We have just returned and loved our stay, so much so we’re booking for 2025. We booked with on the beach and had a 2 bed garden villa facing one of the smaller pools, the location could not have been better. The villa was dated but functional , maids every 2 days and clean towels etc. in between we just wizzed through with the brush to sweep up (5 mins tops). The reception staff were always nice to us and pleasant ! The shop on site was ok but the spar behind the resort was better (fresh bread , pastries and croissants etc) Heldas bar behind the resort also fab for lunch , we got taxis to town to eat out 7 euro each way and ate in bars locally , the restaurant on site was also fab. Would recommend primavera and the lighthouse as our top eateries , the villa was a little dated but it didn’t bother us , it was so spacious ! We loved it here , saw a few people arguing over sunbeds but that happens anywhere ! Book it with confidence ! We’re headed straight back next year x we also hired a car at the airport with zitt auto who were fab , we went to zoo marine , albuferia , Portimão , obvs Intermarché and Apolónia for food shops ,(never seen so much wine choice in Apolónia) amazing ! We did the caves in a speed boat which the kids loved , (14&5) !! It’s been so lovely to escape the all inclusive chaos ! We stayed in villa 523.

Location is perfect, close to Carvoeiro which has great restaurants and bars. The resort has a free shuttle 3 times a day and a taxi is only €6. You can also walk via the cliff top path to several beaches and all the way to Carvoerio in around 45 minutes. Centeanes beach is only 10 minutes, with a restaurant which we ate in for lunch twice and boat trips to the caves which we would recommend. Resort itself is older and in need of modernisation - particularly the Villas. The furnishings are old which in itself isn't an issue but it feels like it could do with a really good clean! The beds are uncomfortable and bedding is really old - sheets and blankets and again felt like they needed a thorough clean. Outdoor pools are OK, very cold at this time of year. The outdoor heated pool didn't feel any warmer, the indoor heated pool is OK but quite small (with maximum occ of 8) and again dated and in need of a good clean. We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant but used the cafe/coffee shop & pool bar several times, good food & staff very friendly. Used the tennis courts twice, €20 for an hour for 3 people inc equipment. Gym is an extra cost of €7.5 per day which isn't explained when you check in. Would definitely return to the location but not sure we would return to this resort. A good clean, lick of paint and updating the bedding would massively improve the accommodation.

The place was comfortable enough. The price was low so I shouldn't complain too much, but the pictures on hotels.com are deceiving. I do believe that some of the suites have been upgraded to look modern and clean, but if they are posting those type of pictures, they should upgrade all the rooms. There are pictures of the non-upgraded rooms but it's only one, and it is a very good condition old room. I did read the reviews and I was hesitant to book because it looked like there was a 50% chance that I would get one of the older rooms, but I thought maybe I might luck out. I did not. It wasn't a horrible stay. It was ok. Price was good, but I think I would have spent a little more money to stay somewhere that felt cleaner. You have to also read the fine print, there is a cost to the gym. On hotels.com it says that the fitness club is an amenity, but they should put beside it on the list *fee for use* and then explain more in the "fees" section. They only explain it in the fees section, where they say it is 7.50 Euros, but it's actually 10 Euros. For a tiny "gym" with minimal facilities, 10 Euros is quite outrageous.

The resort itself is packed with things to do spread out over a fair sized site. We had a one bedroom apartment ( I would say more three star and slightly dated) , clean with the basics, and the walk to the restaurant was maybe 5-8 minutes, the pool five min, etc. All the walking was no problem to us but I think people with mobility issues need to consider this. The shuttle bus goes three times a day and must be booked via reception . We were half board and the night meal was a la carte, no buffet and mainly pasta only choice for vegetarians. There are however, 3-5 other restaurants food choice close by. I think most people go self catering as the restaurant didn't seem that used to half board or willing to help.
Over all the pool choices, tennis courts, gym, ping pong, kids clubs etc all great, rooms basic but unfortunately I found staff slightly put out when asked for assistance or help. We would return but only self catering.

It’s about 3km from centre of Carvoerio, 25 min walk or 5 mins in Uber/taxi for about €6 each way. Taxi rank in centre of Carvoerio for return journey. Lots of bars & restaurants but quite a few restaurants walking distance from RB with OFsrol restaurant on site over looking the pool. Paradise 💜💙
