The location is great. That's about all this place has going for it. I booked this specifically because they claim to use Amex. The owner is rude, obnoxious and as helpful as a stop sign. The card machine was on the blink and payment through Amex was not possible. I was told to go draw money or leave! The room...

Only stayed for the one night before returning to England after a lovely stay in a villa in a local village. We booked a twin room which he refused to give us, obviously wanting to put us into the nasty 'spare' bedroom next to reception as we only had one night booked. The bathroom was revolting, the pillows were as...

It's very complicated to evaluate this hotel, because we stayed there twice and our rooms were in different buildings. I didn't like the first one, which is situated in the neighbor street of the reception. The bathroom was a bit dirty, the window in the room needed renovation, we couldn't close it. It was very noisy at night, especially at...

Owner wasn't at all fazed that we didn't arrive until midnight and spent ages showing us on map where to eat/drink that evening, then visit the following day. Our room was spotless, with wonderful old furniture & pictures. We have already recommended to our local friends.

The owner refused to honour my 'twin room' booking after taking our money. Of course I argued but he wasn't budging and said it 'was not possible to give me a twin room because we were only staying one night'. This reveals that there was a twin room he just didn't want to give it to us. Strangely he told...

Stayed 1 night, glad i was not staying longer. Everything basic and very small. It is cheap so I suppose you get what you pay for. Other hostels in the area are slightly more expensive but better quality. Very close to centre of town and no more than 5 minutes to the bus and train station.

As others have said its a traditional guesthouse that looks tired inside, corridors that go off in all directions! It's central for the bus and train staions so is good for an overnight stay but I wouldnt want to stay any longer. Excellent value for money.

Stayed here for 5 days in July 2012 and was pleased with the experience. It is an old, traditional guesthouse/hostel in the center of Faro, very central to everything but on a quite street. It may not suit everybody but I loved the old fashioned style, it had character and was not a bland copy of so many chain hotels....

Dandy Residence was a great value for money. A vintage hotel-like room with its own bathroom, a small balcony and very, very close to the city center. There was not much going on in the hostel in terms of activities. The staff is distanced but friendly and I was very impressed by how helpful they were (I forgot my passport...
