This hotel is located between the airport and Faro town. You can easily walk either way. The rooms are modern but the rest of the hotel is still with the old décor. Our room had a strange smell and there were ants in the bathroom. The air con had a dodgy smelling air coming out so we opted to open the window instead which wasn't ideal as it was very warm at night. Overall the sleep quality was good thanks to proper fire door that stops you hearing everyone outside. The dispenser from the shower gel was broken which I assumed was left like that by the previous guest. That made me wonder whether it has been cleaned by the staff at all?? The swimming pool is very dirty and the area around the pool wasn't clean either - there were empty bottles from previous guests. They closed the pool between 1pm-2pm for sanitising but the cleaner still left the bottles and hasn't even bothered sanitising the pool hand railings. The sun loungers are really old and uncomfortable. We had to ask reception to re open the pool as no one bothered to come in and let us back in.

Staff is very polite. Hotel has a very good location, 5 min driving from the airport, 10 min driving into town, easy access to the motorway to Albufeira which is about 40min driving. The hotel isn’t located in the main road so it is very quiet place to rest. It has a nice swimming poll and a parking with loads of free space. Breakfast lacks of variety!

Good efficient check-in, rooms are definitely on the small side, but everything clean and in working order. Modern revamped bathroom (not a pod) with a good walk in shower.

Nice outdoor area and smallish pool.

Breakfast was typical Ibis, but good value for money, only gripe was they need something larger then a litre bottle for the fresh orange juice as the waitress was constantly having to go off and refill it.

Small bar for drinks and snacks, however the pizza was like eating cardboard and was the size of a side plate, certainly not worth €9.

Good outdoor car park for those that require it.

Walking distance into both Faro and Montenegro. Personally we prefer Montenegro as it is definitely a locals town with not many tourists.

Overall a good stay and would happily stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to the airport as our flight home departed very early in the morning. The night before we asked the staff to please reserve us a taxi to take us to the airport. They told us that at the time we required the pick-up there are no taxis that are willing to work and that they could arrange a private transfer for us for 17 euro instead.
We declined thinking that we will call a taxi company ourselves.
At the time we woke up to go to the airport there were plenty of Uber taxis available and we were in the airport in no time - having to wait only 5 minutes for the Uber to pick us up from the hotel. We payed overall 5 euros instead of the ridiculously priced transfer the hotel offered us!
Once we got to the airport there were plenty of taxis coming and going too...

I do not recommend this hotel at all, they obviously want to scam their guests.

You get so many crappy chain hotels in the UK but this Ibis in Faro exceeded expectation for the budget and felt it needed reviewing as a result. It was a small room but everything was really well designed, clean and worked. We got in late so it was a really nice comfortable sleep and in the morning, after a decent continental breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and a pancake maker, the staff arranged a hire car to come to us and not at an inflated price. Everything was easy and functional and recommend if need an airport near the hotel.

We stayed for 3 days, check in was good, with attentive and professional employees (Marina and Pedro), the location is in a non-commercial area but close to the mall and supermarket (walking distance, depending on temperature), and far from the beaches , the pool is great and the room is small but the standard is in agreement), the maids were very solicitous and friendly. The hotel is pet friendly which left us very carefree. Breakfast and service are basic for the price. the hotel bar has good service at good prices. We had a problem in the bathroom on holiday that could not be resolved due to lack of professional staff, we decided to stay in the room anyway. Overall the hotel is good, we had a great experience. we recommend .

My friend and I booked this hotel as close to airport as we had an early flight. We cancelled booking 2 days before arrival as we had missed our flight and didn’t think we would make it on holiday. We sourced an alternative flight that day and contacted customer services shortly after our cancellation to explain circumstances and ask if we could save original booking. We were then charged again for the room. Almost £250 to stay in a room for a matter of hours as we had travelled from Lisbon by train and did not arrive until later that night. Very disappointed by customer service and would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

Ibis is located in an industrial area with not much around it. However Ubers are really inexpensive to get around and there is a bus stop nearby. The rooms are small and basic but the mattress and pillows are very comfortable.
Breakfast is very good for a two star with fresh orange juice available and a pancake maker. The hotel does not cater for gluten free guests for lunch and dinner and the only options were salad.
We had Mohammed at check in and check out and we found Jr to be very friendly and helpful. Unlike other hotels Ibis does not offer any flexibility with late checkouts unless they are paid for.
The pool area is adequate but in need of modernisation and I managed to take a dip in the unheated pool.
If I was to stay in Faro again I would choose the Eva Senses hotel in the centre which is a four star hotel and priced just a little bit more than Ibis.

Had a stopover following a late flight arriving at Faro. It was a straightforward 30 minute walk from the airport. Check in was quick. The toilet was faulty but was immediately fixed by the very friendly reception team who came up to sort it out. Standard Ibis rooms. Breakfast was served in a nice area overlooking garden and pool. Outside seating available. Varied continental breakfast with some local pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. Faro centre is another 30 minute walk alongside an attractive greenway, adequately lit at night, leading straight to the harbour front.

Ibis Faro is what one expects from an Ibis. It isn't cheap by any standard, but most hotels in Faro are similarly priced.
Simple, small but clean and functional rooms.
Breakfast is served from 4 am to 12 noon. I have never seen any hotel serve breakfast for so long.
The hotel may seem outside the city, but it's a nice walk by the train tracks into Faro Old Town and a quick walk to Forum Centre.
