We had lunch here, excellent location and superb views sat outside on the terrace. I had a club sandwhich, really nicley presented with chips .... The service was excellent. Great views from up here, well worth doing.....
We stopped for 2 nights in November and found the hotel to ideal for a weekend break. Location is excellent. Right in the heart of Faro so not far to walk to anywhere. Our room was on the first floor and at the back of the hotel overlooking a shopping street but wasn’t noisy at night. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a kettle but the only drinks were fruit teas. No normal tea, coffee or milk. There is a fridge and it had a couple of bottles of water in it when we arrived. We arrived in the morning and they let us check in and leave our bags in the luggage room as our bedroom wouldn’t be ready until the afternoon. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice including cooked items. Our only complaint would be that the cooked items were not hot. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop bar on our first night. Prices were reasonable although there wasn’t much atmosphere. Nice views and pleasant service. If went back to Faro we would happily stop here again.…
I booked the Hotel Faro via an online hotel booking site. I paid a reasonable price for one night. I contacted the hotel via the booking agent to make sure I had a quiet room, as I knew where the hotel was and that it has rooms overlooking the 'strip' and the roundabout / entrance.I was told that they would try. I called into the hotel a couple of weeks before as I was already in Portugal, and again asked if it would be possible to have a quiet room. The receptionist told me that since I had made to effort to come into the hotel to ask, this would be possible, and reserved a room on the second floor on the most quiet side of the hotel. When I arrived for my booking, after a long day, with a flight to catch the next morning, I was given room 103 (to be avoided). This room is on the noisiest side of the hotel. Every time rooms above used any form of water, it sounded as if it were pouring through the ceiling into my bathroom. It was impossible to get a good night's sleep. I stay in a lot of hotels in Portugal and will certainly not be staying there again.…
Booked through Jet2 City break and location did not disappoint, the view from the rooftop terrace was amazing day or night. The room was spacious and clean and a good sized bathroom with bidet. Our room was cleaned daily. However it would have been nice to have tea making facilities in our room or free water after spending the day out walking so we usually went into a nearby cafe for a drink before going back to our room as the roof top restaurant prices were double the price. We did have a night cap after eating out as the cocktails prices were on par with other local establishments. We did not eat here at the menu choice was limited and expensive compared to other restaurants Our package included breakfast and we had plenty of choices from cereals, fruit and the usual bacon, eggs etc. and a selection of bakery items. My only criticism at breakfast was the coffee was served from machines and was poor. I would stay here again as the location, room and staff certainly met our needs…
The 1st and bad impression was not finding a single ramp to access with luggage, the level of the entrance floor is over 2 meters high from the exterior, so you have only stairs and a small lift (available only for wheelchairs as I was told) plus a revolving door which makes harder carrying on big luggage, buggy, etc.. I asked for help and the answer was "there is no baggage service" my discomfort reaction made one of the staff at the reception considering using the small lift at the main gate, I had 2 big luggage (23kg each) plus my 2 year old daughter's buggy, my handbag and baby bag. The same staff helped me with one of the luggage to go up to the room, there is no baggage service even to your own room. She was kind but next day I had no help at all when left the place so had to carry all my luggage, buggy and child on my own down the stairs at the main gate of this 4 stars Hotel to get a taxi. I still don't understand under which regulations those stars were given if there is no ramp to access the building, even for emergency reasons. In addition free drinking water is not provided in the room. The room place and service are average. The taxis the hotel calls from other company takes longer than walking by that taxi rank in front of the roundabout. I rate with these 3 stars because I liked the location and views from the rooftop to the marina. The smart phone provided with free Internet outside the hotel, bathroom facilities and the restaurant on the rooftop of the building. The breakfast is very good also at the rooftop. …
