We booked a private room, which is accommodated in another building (R. da Boavista 26) This is an exceptional place, with a huge kitchen, lounge room and garden. The bedroom itself is fantastic, so spacious and clean with a great terrace and lovely bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The only tiny issue, was the water pressure in the shower was so minimal it was like a dripping tap; but overall we had such an exceptional stay here.
Picked simply because of the location, adjacent from the railway station and lack of availability elsewhere. A four bed(bunk) room which was functional and a fan for air conditioning. Three euros for a towel, and a refundable key for your locker.
Very rude staff they never give you a receipt/bill for your payment. They do not provide hand wash towel and Soap. Too noisy and too much light at night in the hostel and street lights you can't sleep very well.
The only good thing about this place is location. It is close to the bus and train station, and to the city center. And, that is all. Staff only seems to be nice. But, when we asked about the heater, the lady working there tried to convince us that it is not cold, and when she brought a heater to us, tried to convince us the owner bought it just for us. Room was spacious, but did not smell nice. We could not see anything from our room, except the sky, because the balcony was completely closed with a two meter wall, and balcony door was the only window in the room. Bed was very uncomfortable - it is basically a wooden board off the ground with very thin mattress over it. It is not very clean. Room and the common areas (kitchen) were dirty. Lady working there asked us not to use kitchen after 10 pm, and then the staff including her did that. Soundproofing was very weak, and we could often hear other guests slamming doors in the night. Even though the price was not very high, it was not worth the money we paid.…
