The boss was rude and extremely very disrespectful even his staff are fed up of him he kicked me out for complaining about the thin mattress when i told him the wood underneath is digging in my skin there was no atmosphere the whole vibe was extremely very unsettling the staff did not agree on him kicking me out he even was abusive about me via WhatsApp messages to his staff members i've never felt so humiliated & been made to feel so small he was in my face shouting threatening behaviour the only staff i really liked were naye & nicole i think both of them did an amazing job the boss ricardo ruined my whole trip i couldn't go on excursions because he said he did them & then when i got there i was left sitting down doing nothing but visiting places nearby i just had the worst possible experience i would never stay in that hostel again the boss is never around but when he comes he abuses the staff as well as his customers i got abuse for using the kitchen to eat a kitchen there for customers to use the fridges were dirty and full the room was small stuffy & smelly the mattress was disgusting i would really advise anyone that wants a good holiday not to stay here i came to portugal for 2 days to get my head back to normal as i have had so much stress & the owner was aware i told him i only want a comfortable stay i paid & i was made to feel like he is keeping me for free in the hostel just overall very rude and abusive very delusional & narcassistic.

We booked a private room, which is accommodated in another building (R. da Boavista 26) This is an exceptional place, with a huge kitchen, lounge room and garden. The bedroom itself is fantastic, so spacious and clean with a great terrace and lovely bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The only tiny issue, was the water pressure in the shower was so minimal it was like a dripping tap; but overall we had such an exceptional stay here.

Picked simply because of the location, adjacent from the railway station and lack of availability elsewhere. A four bed(bunk) room which was functional and a fan for air conditioning. Three euros for a towel, and a refundable key for your locker.

Very rude staff they never give you a receipt/bill for your payment. They do not provide hand wash towel and Soap. Too noisy and too much light at night in the hostel and street lights you can't sleep very well.

The only good thing about this place is location. It is close to the bus and train station, and to the city center. And, that is all. Staff only seems to be nice. But, when we asked about the heater, the lady working there tried to convince us that it is not cold, and when she brought a heater to us, tried to convince us the owner bought it just for us. Room was spacious, but did not smell nice. We could not see anything from our room, except the sky, because the balcony was completely closed with a two meter wall, and balcony door was the only window in the room. Bed was very uncomfortable - it is basically a wooden board off the ground with very thin mattress over it. It is not very clean. Room and the common areas (kitchen) were dirty. Lady working there asked us not to use kitchen after 10 pm, and then the staff including her did that. Soundproofing was very weak, and we could often hear other guests slamming doors in the night. Even though the price was not very high, it was not worth the money we paid.
