Easyjet cancelled return flight home and we were put into the two star Alnacir. The hotel is very dated but it is clean . We had to pay for breakfast which was eight euro - the breakfast was very good serving fresh fruit salad, freshly cooked scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice and a selection of breads etc

Stayed 5 nights and found the reception very helpful with any directions we needed and we were reccomended an amazing restaurant nearby, told how to get to the Faro beach and all the receptionists were friendly during our stay. Breakfast was 8 euros and you got fresh rolls/ 3 different meats/cheese//toaster/butter/jam/tea/coffee/juice/milk and hot beans/sausages/eggs were available..self service and eat as much as you need. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning is in the room. Shower/bath/toilet/tv and bidet in room. Like other reviews we had problems for a few days with the wi fi but once it was fixed we had no further problems. Very happy with our stay and would reccomend the hotel for a stay in Faro. very good value for what we paid.

If you want 5 star then book 5 star but this is a 2 star hotel which is basic, clean, friendly and a great location for the bus station and airport. The staff are helpful, the breakfast is continental but plentiful. Different breads, preserves, cereal, juice, tea and coffee. Please note 50 cent charge for Espresso. We had room 703 which had the most amazing large suntrap balcony. If you want a cheap clean hotel with an amazing view book room 703 at the Alnacir.

In walking distance of both bus and train station which are door to each other.
So you could get the bus from airport to main bus station then walk to hotel which is about an 8 minute walk.
This is a 2 star hotel so you get what you pay for, I was happy with my stay, beds were a bit hard but I was only there for 4 nights.
Reception staff were friendly and informative of area.

Must say i was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on here but there was no need! The hotel is clean, the day staff are very helpful and greet you with a smile, the room was bright and airy, the bathroom spotless, the beds were comfortable. For smokers there is a nice little sun terrace on level 7.
The chap on reception gave us a choice of rooms and advised that room 402 can be a little bright at night time as the hotel sign is right outside the window (nice of him i thought) so we chose 502.
The linen was fresh, ample amount of towels, mirror, writting desk and chair, beds, side tables, bath with overhead shower, toilet, b day, sink. There are no kettle's in the rooms but there is a cafe 2 minutes walk (out of the hotel door, turn right, keep walking) called Lido's that served lovely coffee. (Make sure you ask for Cafe with milk otherwise you end up with tar in a thimble (Esspresso!)
The breakfast is continental (cheese, ham, croissants, rolls, bread, jam, cereals, fruit) which on the 1st morning was enjoyable, by the 7th morning it had gotten a little tedious but rather that thean no option!
The cleaning ladies were lovely! I chose to use the stairs everyday and would see them cleaning the rooms. Each would smile and say "Hi".
It takes 5-10 mins to walk in to Faro, the reception can give you a map and tell you the best direction to go.
The only downsides would be the pillow was hard (i expected this though) and the night porters were a little odd (Dont let this put you off though as you rarely see them!)

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on our way home from Albufeira. We found it excellent. Our room was 702, the only one with a balcony I believe. It was extremely clean, with a bath as well as a shower, we also had our own small safe and fridge. Toiletries were provided. It was in a quiet area, but only 10 minutes walk to the centre and marina area. We enjoyed watching planes land at the airport from our balcony. The large smoking terrace was next door to our balcony, but people only allowed in there until 11 pm. The wifi in our bedroom worked fine. Breakfast in a light basement room was very good with a vast choice of coffee or tea as well as the usual croissants, ham, cheese, cereals and fruit. You could also have toast. (we love the portugese bread). The owner and staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. My daughter and family stayed at the more expensive Hotel Eva, but did not have a balcony at her hotel and it had a more corporate feel about it. The only advantage I could see was the roof top swimming pool. We much preferred Hotel Alnacir. Faro itself was a lovely small city and the old town area is amazing with a great hidden away local fish restaurant, well worth a visit. The seafood festival was on whilst we were there and this was really interesting. I would recommend Faro to anyone, a relaxing place and friendly people. I definitely recommend the hotel Alnacir and hope to stay there again next year.

The hotel is is very accessible, walking distance to town and the shopping Center. Bus to the airport or beach. The rooms and surroundings are spotlessly clean! Breakfast is supplied, it is your average continental breakfast. The decor is dated but overall it is well worth what I paid for 5 nights, the staff are all friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Stayed one night before taking an early flight back to the UK. We had a triple room. Beds okay, nice bathroom and very clean. Small reception area with a bar. Guy on reception very helpful providing us with maps and direction to the marina. A bit dated but delivered everything we were looking for. Airport no more than a 5 minute drive away. Will definitely stay again. Can't comment on breakfast as we checked out early.
