Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The room that we had was very spacious and very clean, it would have been better with two comfortable chairs to watch tv not plastic ones, but we only stayed two nights so they were not needed. The view was the best that we have ever had overlooking the pool and the marina. The biggest let down was the buffet breakfast at €13 the choice was disgraceful bacon, scrambled eggs chips and mixed vegetables then there was ham and cheese. There was no toaster and the coffee machine very slow. The hot food was also very slow to come out. Avoid the buffet as there are many options on the marina.

Just returned form a family holiday and was very surprised at how lovely and clean the hotel was, the staff on reception weren’t exactly rly friendly but maybe that is just them as people. However the barman (think he’s called Ricardo) was lovely and a credit to the hotel, he’s been there for about 15/16 years. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned everyday, you can get free pool towels from gym area, we only found this out through other guests. Sunbeds were fine, however they were notices to say not to reserve & your only allowed to for 20 mins & then staff can remove your towels. Towards the end of the holiday people were reserving but there were plenty. Food around the pool was good value & restaurant next to hotel is 10% off if your a hotel guest. Restaurants outside hotel are 1 minute walk away & town was just over the bridge so about 10 minute walk.

Perfect! A wonderful location for exploring Lago old town, about 10 mins walk across the marina foot bridge. Shops, market stalls, bars and restaurants all within easy reach and plenty to choose from. The Marina offer great boat trips, easy to book from kiosks, we kayaked to coves and caves with a 10 and 12 Yr old. Pool is great open from 10am and needs this time to warm up as can be a little cold - but you get used to it, warmer after lunch! Lovely pool bar for ice creams and slush ices! Grown up bar is quiet but nice to have. More life in evening as you head to marina and old town. Staff are super helpful and with mid day check out and luggage store our last day was full of sun despite our late night flight. Great bar on marina has live music! Apartment is huge, kids beds are two proper sofa beds and our one bedroom was so comfy and big beds. Air-conditioning great and able to control too. Small balcony but great to pool floats and hanging wet clothes to dry. Room for 2 chairs but used bigger dining table in kitchen. Kitchen well equipped with supermarket within walking. We hired car from Eurocars about 10mins walk over road bridge. Water park about 30 mins away which we visited too. Would highly recommend this place and don't want to leave!

Firstly, the location of the Marina Club is great. There is a lovely sandy beach 10 mins walk away that has a few smallish beach cafe/restaurants and board walks for access, which are good. To walk from the hotel to the restaurants on the marina takes a few minutes, and approx 10 mins into Lagos old town. There is a good supermarket 5 mins walk away that has pretty much everything you will need if you are renting an apartment and want to get food for breakfasts and lunches etc.
Regarding the hotel, the pool is nice enough, just not really big enough to service the hotel when it is busy. It is cleaned every morning, but the surrounding area isn’t. Under the sun beds is never swept, so there is always a lot of leaves and debris, and sometimes people’s rubbish, which isn’t great. The sun beds are ok, a little tired and no cushion, so not the most comfortable. Towels have to be obtained from heading down the spa area and signing out however many towels you want and then returning them for fresh ones. Not the most convenient.
The spa costs EUR 10 to use the gym, inside pool, spa area, so we didn’t bother as it is 16 years old and over.
We rented a 2 bedroom superior apartment with pool marina view. It was a very good size, and had most things we would have expected. The decor was modern and simple. Beds were a little hard for my liking, and the overall tiredness of the bathrooms/kitchen were as expected. The shower in the small bathroom leaked every time you used it, so towels had to be placed by the door to catch water. We had a constant battle with ants in the apartment, not only in the kitchen but in the bedroom, lounge, bathroom, wardrobes and even in bed! We were given bug spray, but that didn’t seem to help.
Regarding cleanliness, our room was always tended to late everyday at 4.30, and it was literally a 5 minute job. Poor effort and not up to my standard.
Balcony was great, large area with a table and 4 chairs and two sun loungers, that were much nicer and more comfortable than by the pool. The balcony had 2 plant pots, one empty and one with a half dead small plant. There was a small, very small area to dry swimming stuff.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Most of the housekeeping were friendly.
All in all it is a nice hotel, it just needs to improve on housekeeping, tidying up the pool area - paving is uneven and needs fixing, plant area needs maintenance, more sun lingers or add another pool to the property, it has the space.

Slightly shabby area, but comfortable apartment, with great staff. Parking is free in an enclosed outdoor area. Some items in the kitchen were missing and the kitchen needs instructions for the microwave/oven. The ones supplied are for the wrong model needing google search. Cabinets and countertops in the kitchen area were damaged. Furniture in the living room is uncomfortable and is similar to a students' hangout. Location is good, and is close to old town about 10 minutes walk. Unfortunately the outdoor pool area needs some work as the walkways around the pool are very uneven and the landscaping is in need of of many upgrades. The indoor pool is available at an added cost. There is no clothes washing in the unit, and the laundromat is at best adequate. It is a couple of minutes walk from the units and costs 4 euros per load, wash or dry. One dryer was broken, one was not working properly and the 3rd is fine. Some units face inward to the pool area, but ours was facing the main road in the area. A little disappointing overall.

Marina Club is in an excellent location for discovering Lagos, the Marina is lovely with great authentic Portuguese bars and restaurants, across the walk bridge leads to a beautiful area. The old town is ideal for restaurants, cafes and bars a walk to the old town walls and surrounding areas isn’t far and they are beautiful. Our apartment was stunning and so big comfy sofas and beds , great pillows. It was cleaned every day and towels changed. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful one lady from the Czech Republic we didn’t get her name was brilliant giving us lots of info on places to go, restaurants and even train journeys!! The pool area is lovely although the tiles are uneven could do with being relayed for safety. Throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend

We stayed here for 4 weeks. Eventhough we had a rough few days when we arrived, the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the perfume in the cleaning products which made my wife quite uncomfortable and sick. They adjusted and reacted quickly in modifying the products used to clean the unit. We were also not satisfied with the location of our unit as it only received sun late afternoon (our ivisit was in the winter months) Fernando accepted to review the situation and was able to reassign a unit that met our needs. We had a great stay and really appreciated all of the front line staff. Thank you all! We will see you again.

Excellent location, situated right on the marina with excellent room, and services. The room includes cooking facilities & amenities of indoor/outdoor pools, sauna, exercise room, on-site massage availabilities. On premises bar with takeout services and immediate access (just 5 minutes off the premises) to about 10 different bar/restaurants, all offering outdoor patios, with occasional live music. Another 5 minute walk from here (bridge over the canal) and you’re in the very charming downtown locale of Lagos. The availability of multicultural food offerings is excellent. We stayed in a studio which is roomy and all we needed it is clean and bright. Unfortunately we were told all the studios are on the Southside of the main building facing a large parking lot. The road traffic was very noisy there is a loose drainage grate at the exit to the nearby round-about so we heard the clunking of every vehicle exiting the round-about . We would suggest not getting a studio if you want quiet. hotel is about a 15 minute walk from old town and grocery store is about 10 minute walk

Lovely hotel (clean, spacious rooms with all the self catering equipment you need) and great service from reception. We really enjoyed our stay.
Fab location for Lagos and exploring surrounding area. If you’re lucky enough to have a pool / harbour view room, then you get to enjoy a lovely view of the boats.
We didn’t eat in the hotel, so can’t comment on food but did spend time in the bar and at the small poolside ‘bar’. The main bar is a nice environment but let down by slow service and one very rude staff member, the rest were great. The poolside ‘bar’ is a complete let down - it’s not staffed and when you can flag someone’s attention from the restaurant they have to run back and forth to get change.
It was a shame that many thought it ok to ‘reserve’ beds and then not appear until early afternoon. Despite signs up, there didn’t appear to be anything done to prevent this. It’s a busy hotel and a shame that a few inconsiderate people were allowed to do this.
