Was walking past and the charming waiter/host spoke to us as we we were reading the menu- as the place was busy we gave it a go. Food was freshly cooked and delicious (my wife had a fish/prawns/potato local dish and I had stroganoff- both were excellent) meal with a half bottle of Douro white wine/2 lovely large white coffees...

I had dinner in the snack bar Solar mainly because I was invited in by the member of staff who saw me looking at the menu in the window. I was surprised by how good it was. I had a bespoke meal of golden bream with potatoes, rather than chips, and glass or two of very acceptable white wine. Prices are...

The owners are very friendly and that's probably why we decided to stay. The room was basic but very clean. The water was hot, the elevator worked well and it was warm enough even though there was no heat. The room is a bit noicy but it was on a quiet side. Very affortable and truly central. One street from...

Upon arrival I was feeling very sick and got a room to sleep in the afternoon. Despite having been really unwell my friend was not allowed to come see me at the hostel. We thought we could at least leave the luggage but upon our return they had locked away the bags and told us we could only get them...

I booked a bed in DBV Hostel e Guesthouse and it is a same place than Solar. Little a bit confusing. Hostel is close to bus station and old city. Quiet location. Rooms are small but clean. Kitchen was messy.

Stayed here for a while whilst surfing in Lagos! A really good way to avoid the party hostels if you're here for the long term. Solar offered very competitive rates compared to the rest of the hostels in the area and would highly recommend it. With the opportunity to use a fully equipped restaurant kitchen, have a beautiful terrace to...

The entrance and the rooms are really sad,, we were tired so we accepted to sleep there,, this was a bad choice..The first room for which the woman gave us the key was with no electricity, the second room for which she gave us the key was with the air conditioning giving only cold air (on December!), the third room...

We were stuck in Lagos with car trouble and needed a place just for the night. We walked around and found this place and were glad we did. The owner directed me to an all night pharmacy for some contact lens solution and then lent me his phone charger for the night. The room was small and basic but comfortable...

We stayed here for 3 nights in June, and had a great stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was fantastic, and the room was airy, clean and pleasant. It was 5 mins walk to the town centre, which meant it was quiet, and when you consider the great value the room with breakfast was, it's hard to...

“We stayed in room 16 which is the four person private room. It had plenty of room and included a cot in the closet so it could easily fit 5 people. The air conditioning and refrigerator worked- not sure about the tv since we didn't use it. My only complaint about the room was the shower head kept turning on its own and leaning to the left side which was a bit annoying but manageable.”
